I had gloss black wheels on a red mk5 golf gti. Tbh they always looked dirty. Personally I'd go for a gun metal grey colour.

I would choose neither. Go for something in between, half-glossy. Thats what I did with these style 199 on my old E90, and I will do this with my 403s as well.

100% glossy will look plasticy when clean, the matt just looks off n to dirty even when clean. As he said, they will quickly have a layer of dust on them them which will matte them out anyways.

I'd start by taking the M badge off. It's not a "M" car, despite protestations to the contrary. Dental floss, 5 minutes, done. Then I'd leave the roof, mirrors AND wheels alone. In this case, less is more.

How does gloss black vinyl wrap look? Does it appear to be clear coated paint, and will it fade more than paint?

I believe not, but having spoke to an installer he recommended I go with a semi gloss wrap as the full gloss scratches easily..

With the red I would look at a dark gun metal and if not that then matte black.

what's the point of getting it wrapped? I don't understand this process...is it paint on top of paint? Or...? Sorry I'm really ignorant, just want to understand what it is...

Wrap the M badge in red so no one can see it.

Plus 1 for me! Your car looks great - leave it alone. Its your money to waste but you are wasting it.

So I am going to play a little bit of Devil's advocate here. The M Sport has wheels that have the M logo, the door sills have the M logo,, the steering wheel has the M logo, And the shift knob has the M logo, oh and the foot rest too. And so the OP puts a little ///M on the trunk and everybody wants to beat the shit out of him. WTF???

Yup that sums it up.

There's getting a car that comes done up like an M and then there's.....Actually I don't need to finish the sentence as "done up like an M" says it all. Putting that M badge on the back is going too far as it implies the car is an M. Ask any M owner if the M-Sport is an M... you'll get the right answer.

I never had any intention to try and make it look like a M3 just a M sport which it is...

Yeah, that's cool. We're distracting from you thread. This is the internet after all so just ignore us. Opinions are a dim a dozen, although it is true - I'm hater for that type of stuff. Anyway, just make sure you enjoy your car and... DRIVE. Remember, DRIVE first, looks/cosmetics second

Go with matt for the wheels, unless you wash your car every 2 days...

Trust me if I could take out the M badge from that M sport I would. But there is an indentation in there after you remove the M badges from the wheels etc.
