I have a 2015 435i Gran Coupe. In the trunk on the left hand side there is a removable panel that says first aid kit. I don't have that. I do have a black mechanical looking box that I cannot figure what it is for. Also below the first aid kit tray is a couple of other electrical looking components. Can anyone ID these items?

ever notice those boxes on the front/rear bumper? You can pop that off and screw in this tow hook so they can pull your car out of the ditch.

Somewhere back there are probably amp, telematics control unit, somewhere there has to be the emissions stuff, vac pump and charcoal canister, locking mechanism for the gas lid, etc. Maybe you'll find a PN and find it.

I think that it is the fake engine sound generator that comes through the speakers its back there to fool your ears into thinking the sound comes from your exhaust..

Sorry I did not mean the tow hook. I meant the roundish black box about and to the rear of the tow hook.
