So tired of all these models. They need to capture all of the market segments they can, but at some point please just focus on making your current models better. 4 grand coupe, X4, X6 are all pointless...

It is a car that you have to see in real life not on some bad pictures with camo.
I'm surprised to read so much negative coments since the most of you guys haven't even seen the car.
i have to be honnest and say, going further on the pictures i saw here on the forum i expected not mutch from this car but man what a surprise!!!
It is really a baby 6GC
Front and rear are precisely equal to the coupé and if the salesman not have open the trunk i whot not have known that it is a 5 door hatchback.
I think also that the m-sport paket is a must have on this car the car that i have seen in Brussels look so mutch nicer than the car in the pictures above.

I can only say wait and see
Sorry guys but i know my Englisch writing is not so good

Yes they should go back to 3 cars, 3/5/7 with just one engine choice because the rest is all pointless too, you only need a car to go from point A to point B not?

And why stay with BMW if there current models aren't good enough, maybe you should go to another brand then...

I don't understand people who bemoan the fact that a variety of models exist. Some of the model choices might be a little strange, but the more the merrier, I say. I just wish BMW gives us more engine choices as well. In the US, there are a total of three gasoline engines that form the foundation for every engine in every model of car that BMW offers here.

I was beeing sarcastic... I can only be happy with all these models, i don't care if bmw makes hundreds of models, if there's one i like that's a good thing for me.
I don't get all the others either, why bother to come and rant in a thread about a car that you don't have any interests in...

I don't get this. Why does there have to be a point for this car? If you don't like it, don't buy it. Judging on the sales records BMW is making every year, I think they know very well what they are doing.

I'm actually thinking about trading in my 5series for this car.

Yeah, i feel the same. I am not so sure about the frameless windows though...
I really wish for a baby 6GC with that interior which is a killer.
I love 6 GC to death, it is just too big for my needs...

I'm right with you bud. I have 6 gran coupe money to spend on my next car, but I can not justify the enormous size. I am not sure it would even fit through my garage. It's gorgeous, stunning. And huge.

I hate to be a downer, but I think it will be unlikely we get the 6 GC interior in the 4 GC. I am really hoping it's a 4 seater, but it won't be a deal breaker for me if it's a standard 4 series interior.

Same in here.
Exciting times from BMW, I was looking at the new M3 as well, but the versatility of this car like you were mentioning before, is a big plus. Maybe many people don't know, but a hatch gives you so much practicability.
4 or 5 people seats -doesn't matter for me neither-, not too big, not to small, hatch, panoramic roof, x drive , a sport package and a nice engine, and you are in for a treat. I think this car sumarize many features people are looking for.

5 door doesn't equal wagon. besides for its configuration, it makes a lot more sense this way.

The car looks nice, I just never really understood the whole 4 door coupe craze that the Germans seem to be all about.

I don't get it why people consider the same car as bad when the rear window is also opened instead of being fixed...

You basically get (I strongly expect):

- same rear hight as F32
- same (looking) rear end as F32
- bigger trunk opening as the rear window is now also opening
- potentially bigger storage room

Only thing changed is a different rear window, which isn't really visible unless you know what to look for.

Quick example I found on the web (yes, no BMW):
