F30 335i 6MT Baseline Dyno!!
Whats up guys,
I did a baseline dyno today with the local M3 + M4 Crew. A ton of nice cars... Had a lot of fun and was happy with my baseline numbers. Car is bone stock aside from an AFE open air intake. 93 Octane. Best numbers out of 3 pulls: 273 whp, 298 wtrq HP numbers right around what I expected... Torque was pleasantly higher then I expected. I knew the car was torquey I told the dyno operator to rev to ~6.7k but looks like he let off a little early on the runs... not a big deal since power starts to dip past 6K anyways. Can't wait to throw on a JB4 w/ bluetooth Uncorrected #s were 279 whp, 305 wtrq |

Looks good.. Remember a dyno is just a tool and don't get concerned or focused on the raw numbers.. When you do more stuff to the car make sure you go back to the same dyno, and then you will get a good idea of power made, etc..

Stock FMIC and Clutch are the limiting factors. And the tq is limited because of the clutch. I was wondering what the difference between STD and SAE correction factors was and here is a good read. SAE is typically 4% lower read than STD. All dynojets using the same CF and correctly installed and calibrated should all read the same regardless of location or climate at the time. http://www.superchevy.com/how-to/ght...el-horsepower/ Last edited by zinner; 04-17-2016 at 11:00 AM.. |

Like stated above its just a measuring tool - I really want to see what the baseline was before getting JB4 and additional mods. There was a JB4 tuned M5 on race gas that made 500whp on map 7 I believe. Another tuned M4 (running a pretty high map/boost) with intakes made like 470-480whp. The FBO and tuned e46 M3s were all around 290-320 whp so it definitely isn't a happy dyno, but accurate. Very nice #s BTW. |

Great to see some realistic baseline numbers - and even on a Dynojet. 20 crank hp over advertised is something I can believe in
With PS1, FMIC and DP but stock boost/flash I dynoed mine at 286whp...

I haven't seen anything but I am not looking too hard, stock clutch is still holding at 400 wtq for probably a year now. Looking at real oem I think there is a chance I can do a 550i clutch when it comes to that.

Thanks for the response. Is a 550i clutch direct fit?

lol that's good to hear. Running map 1 now. Been worried about throwing the downpipe on cause I thought it'd be too much power but that seems promising. Thanks for the reply

We've found that 430wtq its at its limits and this is with a CDV mod/delete. The 550 clutch should be good up to 550wtq maybe even 600. I'll know soon.

Thanks for the response. I'm not planning on making that much power. I guess my plans are to stay with JB4 Map 1 as I'm very content with the power. Map 2 is a stretch for me. But should I be okay with map 1 on a stock clutch. Obviously i understand it won't last as long if the car was stock. And yeah DMFW isn't cheap lol. If this day comes for me do I have to buy a 550i DMFW or is the F30 flywheel good? |
