I took the pain to read through this entire forum and found some kickass info on light choices, problems, issues to look out for etc. very insightful (especially the wicked Humour had me ROFL "by Halos I meant those candles we used to drive with!" And "cmon man you gotta buy these, sell your kidney or make few trips to the sperm bank!" .. credit where due!

On a more serious note, below seems the way forward:
- HID H7 35W 5000K (trying to chose between HIDS4U and Morimoto H7 minis) as there ain't enough info on coding the LEDs yet for doing it myself (dealerships here are dimwits and BMW are unsupportive of retrofits for the most part!)
- Use Depo halogen (in low beam) for the hi beam (inner housing)
- Get Cree LED fog lamps with CAN bus for no errors ...
- the pair Ive ordered from USR don't have auto levelling motors so that won't worry me ...

Thanks once again!
Haha yep we have plenty of banter on here

5000k HID H7 35W for the low beam projector

Normal halogen H7 bulb for high beam, inner housing

Hope this helps

I went for 6000k HIDS on the low beam, 6000k Phillips LED's for high and 6000k CREE fogs, all from Aurora, (who are the same company as HIDS4U)

Photos here, and similar here. Links to bulbs here.

Even if you go for "CANBUS" bulbs that won't throw an error, you will need to do some coding to stop flickering HIDS and fogs that arise when the car sends check signals to the bulbs. Read up on it in the coding forum, it's not difficult.

Well, it would be rude not to, when asked

Would these work on an F30 LCI as I like the look of the projectors over the standard headlight?

@Tech_Guru your beam pattern looks to be pretty much the same as everyone else's on this thread and has the little bit in the middle missing.

Mine are being delivered today so will put up a photo as soon as they're fitted.

Not sure what the cover UKF30 has highlighted is for, but it's the wrong side for adjusting the main beam, and I can't see any mechanism behind it in the guts of the light.

Hi,

Did you manage to adjust you beam using this adjusters ?

Thanks

Hello Mate,

Thanks

Thanks! It seems to dip slightly in the middle but my headlight units themselves are too low.

I'm gunna have to move those up cause my bumper isn't sitting properly then adjust the actual beams again, they don't seem too bad at the minute but I have noticed the slight dip in the middle like others have.

Loosen the arch liner, peel back then loosen the 3 headlight bolts and loosen the bolts on the very top of the bumper in the engine bay and shimmy everything up over, I only have to do this as I rushed it back together in the rain.

Guys, for some reason my halo's never turn on when I unlock the car anymore it's quite annoying as I like them to come on, no matter where I have the light switch, off, auto .. still no joy!

I might play around with the wires as some where angled dodgy when I positioned the ballasts but that has nothing to do with the Halo's!? I sometimes get the dipped headlight fault on the dash but everytime I've turned on the H.I.D's it's gone off and I've check and all of the bulbs/lights are fine. Haven't had the fault come up for for a few days it was daily before that.

Thoughts?
