3M protection film!

Hello everyone,

Planning to apply protection film on certain place ie: door step seals as i find really annoying when it starts scratching whilst getting in and out. Also back bumper. My x car took alot of damage when putting the pram, suitcase etc. Don't want that to happen in my brand new car.

So i have received the film and my car is detailed a week ago. There's some dust around as i live in new built development but no dirt as i've only driven 120mls. Do i need to wash those spots or normal fibre cloth wipe is anough?
Thanks

I would not rub the dust as it will cause micro scratches on the paint, do as per a normal wash i.e. Snow foam, pressure rinse, wash, towel dry, then preferably use panel wipe/isopropyl alcohol/methylated spirits (not white spirits!) on the area to be covered to remove any contaminants from the paintwork.

Thanks. Is alcohol safe for glasscoat, will it not be to strong for it?

Safest to water it down, instructions say 1 part alcohol to 2 parts water.

Yes alcohol wipes will do the job. Not sure what different types there are, but avoid ones with other stuff in them, you want just alcohol so it evaporates leaving no residue.
