I'd happily assist BMW in understanding the needs and expectations of it's client. I'd even assist BMW in identifying the channels to deliver on those and it's alignment to the overall BMW brand and local strategy.
Time to develop that value chain and pin point value adds, cost reduction and maximise on-sale opportunity! Welcome to the post pc era BMW Australia! This almost sound like a pitch to my client - but as an enthusiast (most BMW owners are), I do expect a lot more from the buying and delivery experience. |

Some might call BMW Australia's attitude towards their customers as arrogant. I call it laziness. Just look at their website.

I agree with David here. Many companies use their websites now to portray an image or some sort of representation of quality of product being delivered. I fail to see the lack of understanding consumer needs when I browse through their website.

I don't see much localisation - nor do i see the need for it. These days consumer expect a lot more than just web presence - which is a thing of 90s. How about vehicle tracking or a profile for all my BMWs and service history? Or even direct access to the user manual or guides to assist with new features? I'd love to see some value adds like that. We can't even find info on MSport and it's options on the web site. I love BMW and I hope BMW can exploit those opportunities to it's benefit. |

Actually, my dealer's service department rep was able to print out the entire service/warranty history of my E90 for me on the spot. That was very easy.
I am disclosing all service history to prospective buyers of my E90, which will be sold once I know the (arrival) timeline of my F30. However, I agree that such details should be available to us on line.

FINALLY, YES, my M-Sport has been booked on the Glorious Leader ship. In fact, it was booked on 6th of September at 1455 and was received at the Durban terminal at 0832 TODAY!!!!
Bon Voyage South Africa on 12th September and hello Melbourne on 2nd October. I have my E90 booked for a detail on 7th October in preparation for its sale, so all systems are GO!!!! Check your car's status guys as I'm sure all our cars are coming together.

Hey Mike,
Yes it's glorious indeed. I'm so excited, I started tracking the ship. It's just off port in Port Elizabeth. Comes in to Durban on the 12th, picks our cars up and leaves Durban later the same day on its journey to Australia!!!!! About time!!! Hope the other guys' cars are on the same ship.

Congrats!!! It is finally tracking for you guys!
Unfortunately mine isn't tracking yet... I'm guessing for us Brisbane boys the earliest boat departs on the 27th sept... 2 ships behind any other Australian city.... |

Sorry guys. The Glorious Leader leaves Melbourne and goes on to Newcatle & Port Kembla then on to Japan.

I spoke to my dealer 2 weeks ago and he didn't have the VIN then. Hopefully he'll get back to me tomorrow.
But honestly i'm hoping we're on the same boat our orders pretty much got submitted the same time. Off topic.. i'm trying to get someone to fit the mperformance breaks.. do u think i should just get the dealer to do it? Last edited by J1n; 09-12-2012 at 08:45 AM.. |

No, no. Not the dealer. Get Andrew Brien from Southern BM to install them for you. His workshop is in Moorabbin. He does all of my E90 service work.

For those of us Mike T (J1n???) and myself, who have their cars being shipped on the Glorious Leader, it is now about to dock along Quayside Rd in the Port of Durban. Lots of spaces for cars to be Ro-ro onto the ship.
Cars are most probably in the outside car park. Loading and moving out today!!!!
