I think US spec cars traditionally get that glass standard.

Thanks for the photo!

Very professional quality photo! Thanks! You showed how great Midnight Blue really is! Really shows off the chrome trim of the Luxury Line!

Midnight Blue

I was out this evening trying to get some Moonrise shots over the Moray Firth, but the clouds rolled in and ended any chance.

So I took a picture of my car instead . . . . . .

Hope you like it.

Just picked up mine on Fri.

Oops, Black Sapphire...not graphite! I guess I was thinking tennis rackets

So much sun in Scotland?

Midnight Blue is a very interesting color! I've seen it in a showroom and outside, but never in such clarity and brilliance as your photos! It has appeared to me as mostly black, and only when seen from a certain angle that catches the light do I see that gorgeous blue color. Your photos are amazing! I'm torn between Kalahari Beige and Midnight Blue. My major concern is how difficult it is to keep clean? Does it show every spot/dirt/dust that gets kicked up from the road? I bought Autoglym High Definition Wax in Ireland last year (it's not imported to the U.S.) and this is THE wax for your color! Congratulations from an American who lives in a "sunless" country!

I've attached a couple of exterior shots that I hope will show just what a magical colour 'Midnight Blue' is. It changes as the light changes, and I personally just love it.
The interior is Venetian Beige leather with Burr Walnut trim. Other options include - Comfort Access, Xenon Headlights, Steptronic 'box, Professional Media Package, Enhanced Bluetooth, Seat Heating and Reversing Assist Camera.

I'll post some interior shots later.
I'm just delighted with the car.
Awesome looking car

Tpereur and your mud flaps

I keep looking longingly at your photos, and I just noticed you put mud flaps on the front and rear wheel well arches. Did you find they are needed to prevent road kick back? Are they BMW oem? How are they attached? Did you put them on yourself or is a shop needed to attach them? Again, what a car!!

Thanks for your kind comments RJG.
I mentioned in one of my earlier posts in this thread as follows -

The only other thing I would add, and I forgot to mention it in my original post. You might notice that I have had mudflaps (stone chip protectors) fitted. Driving on some of our roads up here I had a problem with stone chipping along the sills on my last car and eventually had the mudflaps fitted on that. So I made sure I had these fitted on the 328i from new. Although I paid for the flaps, I asked the dealer to fit them free of charge and they agreed

So, as you can see they are BMW oem and the dealer fitted them for me (FOC) before I picked the car up.
Now after nearly 8 months of driving on our, generally well maintained, Scottish roads, I can't find a single stone chip. I would really recommend them, but on a lighter coloured car they do stand out a bit more.

Thanks Alan. Missed your earlier mention of the mud flaps. Since I plan to order a clone of yours (with the exception of the steering wheel on the "wrong" side) the color difference should be minor! Good tip about having the dealer install them at no charge! Regards, Ron

Thanks Ron,
I'll look forward to seeing pics of your car, even if it does have the steering wheel on the wrong side, it should be a beauty. Oh but then you drive on the wrong side of the road, don't you

Just to join the 'missed your post brigade', I also missed your post regarding polish etc.
Yes, it does need keeping clean to look at it's best, but even through our Scottish winter, it hasn't been too difficult. I use Autoglym Super Resin Polish and Autoglym HD Wax, it does a superb job.

Alan,
So you use both Autoglym products! How do you recommend their use: Super Resin Polish first, and then a coat of High Definition Wax? I came across Autoglym when we visited relatives in Ireland. It is not sold in the "colonies" so I have to "smuggle" it in our luggage when returning home. We have a wedding in Ireland in October, and I will combine that with BMWs' European Delivery Program just before that. We will take delivery at the BMW Welt in Munich, drive it with the 2 weeks insurance/plates provided and then they ship it back. To continue this experience, I will have it delivered to BMWs' plant in South Carolina where they provide a hotel and a half day driving experience on their track (using their cars!) Then we get to drive it to its new home! Can you tell I'm just a bit excited?

...unless that refers to the factory tinted windows which we don't get in the US...there is traditional some kind of UV coating on all automotive glass that provides some protection but isn't visible but thats it. We will be tinting ours shortly...

Just a bit excited !! Now that sounds like an understatement.
The whole experience sounds fantastic, but how can you wait until October ?

Back to Autoglym, yes that's the way I use it, SRP first then HD Wax on top of that. The HD wax seems to last an awful long time.
Actually I'm amazed that their products are not available in the USA, looking on their international site, they seem to sell in many countries but unfortunately not yours.
On the UK site there is a good 'car care guide' available as a .pdf download. You should be able to access it here -

http://carcareguide.autoglym.com/

There are also some good tutorials on YouTube, for example -

but there are lots more.
Hope this helps.

I just got my 328GT in Midnight Blue, it looks just like the pics here. The color sample on the BMW site is way off, there's nothing teal about it at all. I think the Midnight Blue is the best color, it really fits the small limousine character of the car.

Congratulations on getting your Midnight Blue 328GT.
You obviously have impeccable taste

I agree it really is the best colour.
