My E46 was a SA build it didnt feel any different from a German built one. Same problems that were common to any other E46. For emotional appeal a lot of people prefer German built 3ers and they think some tall blond guy name Heinz is carefully putting together their German built vehicle like its 1926...

Some people have a longer shipping time with tha SA builds, so the tw week Germany closure may not be as big of an issue if you take that into account. Are they letting you drive the vibrating car in the meantime?

Well, it sounds like whatever you choose it'll be a winner.

Hey...I wonder if you "technically" could apply for BMW "loyalty" cash? You currently have a BMW and are getting a new one....

I only advise NOT driving one with the HUD or you might decide to blow your planned payment budget out of the water!

What happens to the "dud" 328? Will it be resold by the dealer to an unsuspecting member of the public in the hope the steering problems isn't noticed or tolerated??

I believe in a typical scenario it'll be auctioned off "as-is" by BMW NA. Of course no one can really be sure in this specific case, unless the OP asks the dealer & does a little investigating.

Hard to understand whats tough about that choice. The first option to ever select on a 3 is upgrade to 335. Go for it.

Mine is a 2013 328 M sport and the vibration still exists. comes in at around 45,47 and goes away at around 60. It is not horrible but IT IS STILL THERE as far as my car goes. its not a deal braker for me I love my car and would not trade it.

I'm surprised you and I are the only one to bring this up. It's not really a resolution if BMW can't fix the vibration problem. It's more or less paying a shell game and taking a gamble.

No question it is.

Leaning towards a 335msport. Just going to hope that their isn't an issue.

But yea, would look pretty bad if i got another 328 and had a problem. The service manager suggested that "the 335 might not have the problem"

I guess it's just luck of the draw

Either way very excited about getting a estoril blue or MG 335msport.

Little more thinking to do, like stay with sport auto and try a manual.

Appreciate everyone's input

Will BMW or your dealer charge you anything else since you will use the car until your order comes in?

So you're getting a 2013 335i M Sport and will pay less (per month) than what you're paying currently for a 2012 328i without Xenons?

Wow! What a great dealer you have.

Not exactly. They are just going to replace my car witha car of my choosing using some weird formula to determine how much money goes to the new car. It's very confusing but somehow is working out rather well.

Bmw wants to avoid lemoning the car because then it would go on the title and the value of the car would drop significantly.

So they are treating it as a trade in?
