Condensation in Rear Lights

Has anyone had condensation in their rear lights? Just notice I have it in mine, so car is going into the garage on Tuesday for a warranty repair for the lights and a noisy climate control fan (for a second time). I read this is a known fault on early build F30s, can anyone confirm?

Do dealers actually replace the units if there's condensation inside? I'm thinking of the alternative - they remove the unit, use a hair drier or hot air gun to drive the moisture out, put a tiny bit of grease on the seals then refit the thing - and tell you it's all sorted

I put some little sneaky marks on my lights as I thought they might try that, they have definitely been replaced

Some poor bloke who took their F30 in for a service is probably driving around now, blissfully unaware they've got sneaky marks on their rear light clusters

8 months later and I have condensation in my rear lights again, despite having a new set fitted! Car is booked in to have them replaced under warranty! I think there is a systematic problem with these lights so I wonder how many lights I am going to go through...seems such a ridiculous failure! I don't fancy paying for these once the car goes out of warranty!

Weird! Mine still hasn't had any condensation at all from since I got it in June 2012!

RobUK will probably have this issue amongst many others

If they can't fix it put some silica gel packets in the cluster, just remember to change them every now and again.

Just got out my car today and 3 weeks after my new rear lights were fitted, I have condensation in the rear lights again (Top corner as they wrap around the side of the car). I am so sick of going back to the dealers with this car I will just leave it for now, but it does make the car look shoddy!

Has no one else had this problem?

I was in last night sorting a deal for my Mrs to get a C class Coupe. Im so irritated with this car now, I'm sorely tempted myself! Can't say I would recommend an F30 on the build quality, I am really frustrated with it on many fronts. If only I never let my trusty e90 go!

This were my thoughts when i recently a 320d sport for a few days, the materials do not seem robust. I was actually looking at the F30, however after reading this i am now thinking it might actually be better to get a late e90. This kind of of thing is just not acceptable.

Not got condensation on my tail lights, but noticed today that the headlights had a bit in the offside one. Nearside was ok. Never noticed it before.

I have to say I've not had a single problem, touch wood, with my f31. Had it 7 months now and done 3000 miles. The quality is fantastic so it's either luck or they've solved things over time.
