@ Questions.
The 5er Li is an exclusive model to the Chinese market and built exclusively for China in China. There are no plan for export to other markets. Concepts sheduled to appear relate to the Project i initiative and show cars that will preview future models. No Supercar. The BMW 1er (F20) debuts in mid 2011. World Premiere will be at the 2011 IAA. US Market will forgo the hatchback again. |

If the car comes out in mid 2011, it would be MY2012, so a 8-year life cycle? Why so long? And is the coupe going to come out at the same time as the hatch or a year after like other BMW coupes?

In Europe we do not abide by the North American term of model years.
The current 1er hatch was launched in mid 2004 ahead of a World Premiere at the Paris Autoshow. The same target for the 2011 next generation 1er hatch. This will coincide with the World Premiere of the 1er at the IAA in 2011 with sales beginning simultaneously in European markets. The Coupe and Cabrio will be replaced in mid-late 2012 and early 2013. M model or as it is known as internally "SuperSports" will follow in 2013. The Z2 Twins. BMW's more premium offering above the MINI Coupe and Roadster will arrive in late 2013. The run-out (E82) 1er SuperSports will not be unveiled until early 2011. |
