Still disappointed there is no RWD diesel variant for the US.

Base price for the 328i xDrive GT is the exact same as the F31 328i xDrive. Seems like you get more, with the GT.

Its nice how this car and the new 4 series all come with the sport shifter as standard equipment. Wish that was true when I ordered my '12 328i.

I just do not like the GT's or wagons.

GT's remind me way too much of mini vans.

They are just like mini-vans, you hate them until you take a road trip in one. Then you love-hate them.

The 5GT was not a big enough flop for BMW?

Sorry but I don't have a family and wouldn't want to be caught dead in one.

Rather get an X3, but I dislike SUV's on the whole. I'm not offloading my BMW nor am I living out of it on a camping trip.

My thoughts exactly. I think I've seen one on the road, ever, and it was a man that was getting driven around by his bossy wife.

Why bother with the GT? Not pretty like a car or coupe and not functional like a van. If they are going to build this sh!t might as well build a BMW van atleast it will serve a functional purpose.
This thing is just an eyesore without real purpose unlike a van.

What will people here say if F34 becomes available with RWD and F31 doesn't? Or F34 gets manual transmission and F31 doesn't? Anyone who's been paying attention to recent marketing decisions by BMW will know that this possibility exists.

Some folks around here have kids/car seats. A standard F30 is not as big as you think, once you throw a couple of car seats in the back.

Don't be so quick to throw stones. BMW makes Z4s and coupes for folks like you.

Interesting... are you saying the headroom is less than ideal in the sedan when you have a car seat?

Where did I say anything about headroom? Im talking about rear legroom/wheelbase. Actually, a few extra inches of headroom would be quite useful when lifting up a <3 year old in order to plop them in a forward facing seat.

As if that's a bad thing. They can eat each other all day. Still disgusting.

I assumed headroom because I figured the sedan was big enough to fit a car seat. Does it not fit bigger seats or something?

Rear-facing seats (for kids <2) inherently are deeper (really deep, actually), and almost impossible to fit behind the driver's seat in an F30 if you're taller than 5' 8". You can fit them behind the passenger seat if you move it up, but that still leaves very little room to unlatch the seat - your hand must go in between the most forward part of the car seat, and the back of the passenger seat, to unlatch the seat for removal.

Struggle with this several times a week, and you will appreciate just how much an extra 3-4" of wheelbase/legroom can make a difference in your daily life loading and unloading kids from a car.

That's just the issue with rear-facing seats. With standard forward-facing seats, a small child is still going to bounce his/her legs during the trip. Guess where those legs end up? Hitting the back of your seat! Admittedly, you can coach a toddler not to do this, but a few extra inches would be useful for everyone.

Minivans don't sell well every year because people like their bulbous looks or floaty ride. They sell because convenience sells. Well, I don't need to go to that extreme, however I do want something fun to drive that's not a total pain in the ass to move two small children in and out of. The F30 is just on the border of that type of vehicle.

Maybe I need the Chinese long-wheelbase F30?

I used to hate the 5 GT, but this actually looks appealing. I definitely wouldn't mind owning one of these!
