CONs about 335i
Like any hot chick in the club, there is a ugly chick around her.
1. Hate squealing brakes 2. Hate auto stop default option 3. No fog lights, not a big deal but why Europeans get it and not us. 4. Navigation, a lil bit to inconvenient to use. Have to use the roller to type address (tip for BMW: touch screen) 5. BMW apps should be added with no extra fee. 6. Space saver tired. I understand the purpose of run flat and the fact that BMW is getting rid of unnecessary weight, but what if you have a complete blow out on the hills of West Virginia? |

My M-Sport has the fogs, but when they are teamed with the Bi-Xenons, the colour temperature difference is very, very noticeable, to the extent that to me, the fogs look somewhat out of place. Now, as I mentioned, this is my opinion when I tested the lights after I took delivery of my car. For the time being, I drive with the fogs off at night, whereas in my E90, I used to run with them at all times with the Halogens as they matched. I'm still thinking about it. So for me for the moment, my fogs look nice off.

Tip on #4: The voice recognition for entering addresses has been working really well for me. hit voice button, "enter address", then just state the full address 1-2-3-4 Main Street, San Francisco, CA. It takes a few seconds and mine has been spot on most of the time (or it will ask from a few options). |

Rather than 335i you should say F30 because most of the issues mentioned here are for the 3 series in general not the 335i.
I'm going to be the devil's advocate here just for the sake of it: 1. The squealing brakes issues doesn't seem to affect everyone. 2. ASS can easily be coded away. 3. Fog lights might not have that much use when you have day running lights, and to some people, the added clutter is undesirable. Official BMW stance on this is that the US has very hot areas where the added ventilation is necessary (sounds bogus I know.) 4. Can't say anything about hard to use nav, everyone is wired differently when dealing with user interfaces, some are going to find it easy to use while others will have issues. Hard to please everyone in this domain (I know it's my job.) 5. It's included in tech package which in my opinion makes a lot of sense... Now most ppl don't give a crap about twitting while driving or whatever this is supposed to do. 6. Agree on that. Run flats are crap and should be ditched and a spare provided like any other car. However, if you have insurance, road side assistance will probably be covered. But I don't know what they can do for you if you don't have a spare, never tested it. I think if these are the cons of F30 then we are in pretty good shape! |

Potential solution for a flat tire in remote areas: always carry BMW's "M Mobility Kit", which consists of a 12V compressor and a can of special goop to inject into the flat tire. There are other more reasonably priced kits that will serve the same function.

I wish my premium package seats had the pull out seat option sport seats offer...only Con I can think of. Oh and 2012's with tech don't have app's, WTF?

The OP is referring to the lack of fog lights on the US-spec M Sport; personally, I have now grown to prefer the no-fog look over the M Sport in the rest of the world with fogs.

1. M Perf brakes work great (upgrade though)
2. Dealer fixed that for me before delivery, By coding at my request I never looked back 3. I had fog lights on my E46 for 10 years. Where I live has fog. I used the fog lights maybe 3 times in 10 years. I like the look without them too (though I do not buy into BMW explanation why they are omitted in the US. At the end of the day, probably just another thing to break or help kill the battery 4. This is 6 one way 1/2 dozen the other for me. Once I got used to it, I can use it very easily with the wheel or the voice command input. No real learning curve either. YMMV. 5. Run flats are crap, but this is what Europe and in particular the direct competitors, audi and MB are doing. Funny how we don't get fogs, but they still force the run flats no one wants on us. Both run flats and no fogs probably come down to what BMW does to cut costs to make up extra money they are forced to spend on making the car US legal to import.

I actually like the runflats. I've gotten 2 flats before in my z4, but I was able to drive back to my local tire shop to get them replaced. The whole point is that you can still drive on it for ~50 miles!!!

4. I use the BMW remote app to send destinations to my car. a lot easier than punching in through iDrive.

Touchscreens in cars are overrated, IMO. You end up with a screen covered in fingerprints. Blech.

[QUOTE=Ron Scott;12902519]Cons of the 335 vs 328:
1. Gas Milage 335i RWD gas mileage rating for highway is better than 328i Xdrive ! Same ratings for city. (ref.: Transport Canada).
