Tesco Momentum99 Super Unleaded v Shell V-Power Nitro+
http://www.tescopfs.com/our-fuel/specifications
Momentum is 99 RON but V-Power is 98 RON. Momentum is cheaper than V-Power. Therefore Momentum "wins"? What are your experiences with the two in your petrol BMWs please? |

I find they both make my car run like a dog so I stick to diesel.
Sorry.

BMWs will not perform any better on 99 RON than they do on 98 RON.
The mapping allows optimum performance on 98 RON. I always use Shell 98 RON. Car is quieter, smother and gives better economy. |

Not sure they are all bad
Onwith sainsbury my E90 320D use to run great on the diesel possibly the % of biodiesel in it helped. Filled up first time to full on unleaded 95 at local sainsbury will have to see. One thing I like about my one is its very heavy foot traffic right next to the m3 so lot of turnover on fuel . On other hand when ever I in past filled up with diesel at tesco car run like a bag of bolts which is odd. Youd think it would be pretty much same fuel. Though not sure what % of biofuel is in tesco ones

Didn't want to create a new thread but out of these super unleaded fuels order which one is best to worst in your experience please?
Branded: BP Ultimate Unleaded [RON 97] Shell V-Power Nitro+ [RON 99] Esso Energy Supreme [RON 97] Total Excellium Unleaded [RON 97] Texaco Super Unleaded [RON 97] Supermarket: Tesco Momentum99 [RON 99] I think that's it - the other 3 supermarkets just do a regular unleaded. http://www.bp.com/en_gb/bp-plus/uk/f...-unleaded.html http://www.shell.co.uk/gbr/products-...-unleaded.html http://www.esso.co.uk/petrol http://texaco.co.uk/Motorists/Pages/...r%20Fuels.aspx http://www.tescopfs.com/our-fuel Last edited by E90F30er; 02-28-2015 at 05:37 AM.. |

Don't go to Tesco. Crap Supermarket and don't have one nearby.
Use Shell in my Diesel BMW. Smooth running. Tried the BP stuff and preferred Shell. As my nearest fuel stations are Shell, I will be using Shell's top juice (99 RON) in my Golf R.

I'm strictly an ultimate guy but have on a couple of occasions used the shell stuff. I found no performance difference between the two but did notice the engine tone was different using shell. Why do you prefer Shell if you dont mind me asking? |

As you're only asking about petrol options I can't really comment on those. I can tell you that she'll are doing triple points (which I think is 3 times their usual double points) on their posh fuel versions so that (partly) offsets the 8p a litre increase over standard.
Also disappointed I missed out on those lego toys they did before Christmas. I know they weren't free but they looked good value compared with normal lego. |

I asked myself the same question so I ran my F31 328i on both for around 800 miles and concluded the following
Tesco Momentum 99 Car felt very quick and alert even in Comfort mode, good throttle response. In sport mode it became difficult to drive smoothly around town, the throttle felt to sensitive. When cold it wasn't a 100% smooth during gear changes but hardly noticeable. The exhaust tips went black very quickly Shell V Power Nitro Plus Throttle response in comfort mode is very slightly less responsive The car is smoother in sport mode and is easily drivable around town The gear changes are smooth even when cold The exhaust tips take a lot longer to go black. I'm sticking with Shell v-power |

So it's £4.80 extra a tank for V-Power Nitro+ over regular Shell Fuelsave unleaded (8p extra x 60 litres). |

Only Shell in mine
The way I see it, it's only a few pounds extra for the V-Power stuff at Shell over their regular, so definitely worth it.
