Wipers are not covered under maintenance in Canada. I too would like to find out how to install the after market wipers on an F31.

^Easy to do if you get the correct replacement. I had the OEM ones replaced soon after I bought the vehicle but the BMW replacements didn't last very long in my opinion. The Bosch Aerotwin work way better in my limited experience with them so far.

Reading the thread, and being very disappointed with the OEM wipers, sourced from Valeo. Decided to give the Aerotwins a shot.

Even just the wiping performance, so much better than the OEM ones. Mind you, they changed the driver's OEM one as a favor once, but it kept applying too much pressure in the middle. Was the same after they tried several other of the same ones and even changed the wiper arm! Now it's wiping so much better, but time will tell if it's applying too much pressure.

Profile-wise, seems to be a little taller than the OEM, but not too big of a difference.

You need the I and L connectors of which not all brands carry. Rainx carries this though I just spent 25 bucks for driver side RainX works fine. The budget brands don't carry this more obscure connector which is a pain. You know BMW always have to do unique stuff so that it forces you to go to a dealer more often.

Bosch Aerotwin A929S

Agree with Timbits!
These Belgian made wipers were the answer after a long search. I tried Tricos, Rainx and Michellin. The Bosch seem to be the best suited IMHO. Also I think you can get refills really cheap from the UK for these blades. These blades are available via Amazon.

I went back to OE but the issue of streaks persisted even after changing the wiper arm.

These wipers are well made and marginally longer.

They are almost similar in weight.

Even when longer it does not overshoot the windscreen as expected.

Here is a before and after.

With OE wiper blades

With Bosch Aerotwins

Not in Canada, they charged me for new ones last time I went for service

I agree, the OE blades suck in the F30. I just replaced mine, and they aren't as good as the OE blades were in my E90. For the over $100 I paid for them at the dealer, I expect them to not be streaky right out of the box. Will be buying Aerotwins next time, if they fit. I used Aerotwins in my E90 and they were the same as OE (ie: good).

Nice! $55 on Amazon is great, I just wish I knew about this before I spent $120 on them at the dealer a month ago

It's funny, there are two things that really drive me nuts about the F30, one is the ridiculous iPod connection and the other is the windshield wipers.

Getting the wipers in place to be changed is needlessly complicated.
