BMW Driving Experience Intensive Course
Hi all,
Ive been offered a spot on one of these afternoon's in a few weeks time with BMW M3 Coupé, BMW 328i Sedan with Sport Line and the BMW 125i M Sport Hatch: • Visually assisted lecture on safe driving techniques. • Steering technique and seating position. • Observation and awareness skills. • Ideal cornering lines. • Vehicle dynamics including braking exercises on wet tarmac. • Timed slalom and motorkhana competitions. • Paced circuit laps and at the end of the session all participants will be taken on a hot lap of the circuit by one of our instructors. Has anyone done the course ? Is it worth the time ? Thanks in advance Cheers |

You'd hate it.
Luckily for you I'm free whichever day it's on and will happy fly to the requisite track to take one for the team, so to speak. Shame to see it wasted, after all. If you do, against my advice I might add, decide to proceed you're likely to find it a great experience. Any form of driver training is worthwhile (except in this case, as I said you'd hate it and should send me instead) and having the opportunity to practice in a safe, controlled environment with experienced instructors can't be beat. Except for this. You should leave the day (well imagine you were going, which you're not - I am now) having a greater appreciation of your abilities and the limits of your car. I see a lot of people at these days finally realise their ambition is far ahead of their capability! Great fun, great way to practice skills and hopefully have experiences that stay with you for a long time to come. Should be more driver training done for people on a regular basis, but good luck telling the hordes they need ongoing training to drive their toaster. I mean Camry. |

Did the course today in QLD with Geoff Brabham et al.
Had a FANTASTIC time - laps driving the M3 were a huge highlight! Highly recommend having a go if this is in your area the slalom course is done using mini cooper S which adds to the overall experience.

Wow, I'd love to know about how people got the offer for the half day course!
I'm sure the 1 day and 2 day courses are worth it but presently, the half day course will do just fine to get the basics down pat! |
