Back on drivethedeal.com - bigger discounts!
Had a quick look today on drivethedeal, and it seems discounts have come back with a vengeance.
330D M Sport "bog standard" - list 38405, DTD 28912 saving 8534! (Edited to add: this is on tourings) That's about 1200 quid extra discount if I remember correctly. Last edited by chiark; 05-06-2014 at 08:08 AM.. |

Surprising, no real need for BMW to discount following their best ever year and Qtr? Sometimes I am a little suspicious of the advertised deals but if that's attainable why wouldn't you, good spot.

That's a mega 22% discount. Its a bit bitter sweet to have these discounts, makes the buying easier but residuals take a good old kick too.
Simple reason why they are doing this is in the UK Audi are selling more than BMW. Last edited by davyk31; 05-06-2014 at 04:47 AM.. |

"Residuals? yeah, we've heard of 'em... no call for 'em around these parts "
Seems to suggest the cars are rather overpriced, doesn't it? 30 grand 320d se touring for 24k is a lot of car. |

Some on here got similar last year and early this year as well.
Not really surprised that BMW need to improve discounts etc. They need to keep the bite on Audi and Mercedes or run risk of loosing sales and therefore repeat sales to them. They just need to really discount the 2 series heavily now |

I thought I'd done insanely well with 20%. I'm still very happy with the deal and the car, but after shifting nearly 8000 3 series in March alone I'm surprised to see this level of discounting. When's the LCI due?

Btw insanely happy needs to be 22% or above Next time take the family hostage, works wonders on negotiating a decent discount. |

Anyone getting 20% is going good, 21-22 is amazing above 22 % is kidnapping or 'special' favours. With me, my main thing was lowest possible deposit and a good discount, usually mutually incompatible. As I mentioned in another thread, I had the option on previous M3 as the model ended, it was very good and would be similar to some peoples 335's. |

There is no kidnapping to be done now, the drive the deal offer is there at nearly 24% open to all.
Think up to now anyone getting 20% was doing well. The bar has just been shifted again. Bit early for LCI I would have thought so this is just fighting for sales. |

Makes my 17% look crap. Did get 3.9% finance though...
I've never used DTD or similar before, how are you getting these quotes without registering and getting a human to call you back enquiring? I ask as I'm possibly looking for a car for daughter (Mini / DS3 / Fiat 500) and want to snap up a bargain but do my research by window shopping on t'internet. Andy

With current discounts if achievable and not just drive the deal touting for business. It could be worth anyone with a low discount offer now cancelling and re negotiating a better deal.

DTD quoting £1k less than we are expected to pay for our new car, should arrive next week. Stuck down a £1k deposit though so can't walk away from it.

I put my spec in last night and it came out with 11.1k discount ! As it includes loyalty that is 10.6k in reality. But still 1.5k above what I achieved. Plus I paid £575 for seal+protect, that I didn't really want, to 'secure the deal'.
Short of it is.. if I had the car now I'd be very happy. I got what I felt was a very good deal at the time and delivery timescale was perfect. But I ordered in Jan for mid April delivery, now looking at a provisional 27th June delivery. I can cancel with full deposit refund from 21st May (30 days plus 7 after written notice as per the small print). I am tempted to tell them to take off seal+protect and increase the BMW contribution to what is currently on offer (which is half of the difference) or I reorder with drive the deal. Could be a gamble on the residual though, should it have decreased. I'm not usually one to back out or go back on my word, but I feel like if they can't deliver on time they should give me the better deal now on offer to compensate. |
