I've only got about 1400 miles right now. Seems the brake pads have quite a bite too. I've read that the Msport comes with a higher friction pad compared to non Msport brakes. Maybe that's part of it too. But still, even doing my best to modulate the brake force, if I let up too much that car then wants to accelerate. If I modulate for more force it seems to bite too much against the forward force. It feels like I'm fighting too much torque even at idle engine speeds. I guess I could ask them to try and tune down the idle speed by about 200rpm and see if that helps, but I don't know if they can do that. The service writer and tech test drove it, but of course they thought it was "normal" even though they both admitted that it did stop with too much of a "jerk" motion. When it stops, literally the front end compresses noticeably as if I were coming to a very hard stop from high speed, even though I may be coasting to a stop at 5mph. Not very BMW like at all. Makes me miss the MT even more, even though I LOVE the sport AT. |

I just traded my 2008 E90 for an 2013 F30 M-Sport. I wasn't sold on the front of the F30, so I decided to lease it short term. (BTW, there are some pretty good deals out there.) I'm hoping that BMW will make the front look better on the LCI model. If I put the car in M-Sport mode, the car feels much more like my old E90 w/ sport package but the new car is much more nimble and quick. The amount of torque of this four-cylinder engine is impressive, to say the least. Personally, I did not like the "heaviness" of the E90. Feeling the road was a "love-hate" relationship. It was grounded and great to drive on smooth roads. On rough roads, it was a creaky, rattling disaster. Unfortunately, the roads where I live are not well paved, so driving my E90 was annoying. So far, I really like my new F30. I just wish the ASS function wasn't so jerky. |

Really miss the E90 brakes. They were the best ever. I don't care what they say about the low rolling resistance tires. The F30 brakes suck in comparison to the E90, IMHO.

the e90s front is hideous compared to the F30s front. Thats enough for an upgrade to the F30.

I wouldnt have gotten my f30 if there wasnt an Msport option as I feel the other lines bodys look ugly and plain. The sport line isnt too bad but takes a few mods to make it to my taste. Cosmetics aside I bought mine because of the awesome mpg.
During my whole european delivery I had 5 people in the car and a trunk full of luggage drove about 1500 miles and averaged 27 mpg which blew my mind. With those kind of numbers I could do 40+ easy or my commute to work. First new car and I love every part of it. At the end of the day its up to each individual to decide if its what they really wanted. I don't let other peoples judgements of the car sway my decision. Use the car if you like it awesome if you have second thoughts then its not for you find something that fits you and not something that you think will fit for everyone else.

Yeah, the E90 rear was my least favorite part as well. Especially when they did the LCI, they tried to cram some of the LED "light bars" into a tail light housing that wasn't really designed in mind for them. Worked OK on the E92. But the E90 just looks like they were trying to jam a square peg in a round hole.

I think the msport front looks much nicer. I heard the F30 brakes are also softer. I will say the F30 absorbs bumps much smoother. Since my friend picked up his F30, he hasn't really embraced it. He is now talking about turning it in next summer, and will look into a 2013 E92 hoping he can get a good deal.

I have an odd quibble with the f30. I know that I will upgrade, but I'm oddly torn on whether it will be a touring, coupe, or gran coupe.
Despite all the awesome reasons to love the f31, I get annoyed that BMW didn't put LED tails in it so they will have something for the LCI. It's 2012...I think LEDs should be standard as they are on my e92 LCI. Minor point I know but..... The more major issue is I will need some time to adjust to the new steering. Not saying its bad. Just got too used to the heft on my e92. |

I see the the f32 is already in production. I dont know what that black piece on the front side, near the wheel well is. I hope it's not a cheap piece of plastic that serves no purpose. Otherwise, I like the way it looks so far. I hope the front looks nice.

I came out of two E90's and picked up my 2013 F30 in August. The car is beautiful and a pure joy to drive. IMHO I think it's a stepup from the E90.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. BMW should find better reasons to encourage its customers to upgrade to the LCI when the time comes around. After all, the f30 tails are SO similar to the F10's that they are hard to differentiate....till that antiquated brake light fires up.
