Anyone convert from propane to natural gas heat?

Looking to buy another house & I am set on natural gas for heating. A couple homes that I really like have propane heating.

I know it can be converted, but I don't know the cost or process involved outside of jets needing to be changed.

I would be having a professional do it. Not trying to blow myself up.

Anyone here have thew conversion done? If so, what do they need to do & what would it cost me?

We ran on propane for a couple of years until gas was available in our area.
The gas company usually only looks after the install up to and including the meter.
We needed a separate contractor to install the lines into the house and furnace.
The contractor looked after the jets conversion as well.

As long as the furnace is rated for gas conversion you will be good to go.
Most of the cost is for the line to be installed into the house.
I don't recall what ours cost, but it wasn't a lot.

before you do anything, find out if there is gas line in your property usually main road in front of your property.

Usually when properties have propane system, at that time natural gas wasnt available.

You will have to change your gas appliances from LPG to natural gas if you were to make conversion.

I do know, most appliances are made of natural gas and LPG kit is available.

You can buy conversion kits for your HVAC system and appliances. Weird that you would have propane if natural gas is available as its a much cheaper option. Unless the house was built before natural gas was ran to your area.

Isn't it normally that you are converting your standard appliances TO propane? You may be removing stuff if you get the source and piping in place.
