Thank you, I will look into having it coded (I don't want to break anything lol)

The acoustic lock/unlock can easily be coded in without much hassle.

A quick search there is plenty of threads discussing it, one of the easier things to code in or have coded by someone.

BMW will only service your vehicle if the CBS says its time for a service or else they will charge you. Get your money back.

OK, I was confused about that because of the difference in the screens & functionality that my car has vs a friend's of the same year.

But after some research, it is part of the security package or something like that and either way I don't have that functionality.

razzy530, some people value grip more than you do. To us a pretty car has the potential to lose this minor aesthetic advantage while wrapped around a tree.
How is it that you presume how much I value grip? "GRIP" is all about the contact with the road and the type of "SHOES" the car is wearing..... XDRIVE will not provide more grip or traction, as you say...

Having said that,

I have an e60 rear wheel drive with dedicated BLIZZAK snow/ice tires and wheels that i switch out to every november and off in april. my rear wheel drive now corners, steers and stops better than your Xdrive without proper snows.

Lots of threads on the Forum to discuss your RWD vs AWD garbage, we all know it's not a real BMW unless it's RWD with Manual tranny and at least two generations old, give it a rest will you?

Can you explain why AWD was banned in touring car racing (DTM/BTCC/WTCC)?

Congrats, she's a beaut!

The back-up camera can be retrofitted in. The beeping on locking and unlocking can be coded in as folks stated, but only if you have an alarm system. I enabled the option in my car, but it does not do anything because i do not have the hardware for the alarm system. This too can be retrofitted in if you really would like it. Enjoy your ride and you will find a treasure trove of information here. Welcome!

Loving the car, it drives amazing (came from all Japanese cars) and looking forward to our life together

Some things I have found really annoying but did some searches in here (after buying the car) that I figured would be standard on a car that originally cost +$40k but are NOT...

1. No backup camera? I've had a backup camera since 2011... I test drove so many different BMWs that when I found this one I just assumed it was a standard thing (bc all the other ones had it). Turns out I was wrong. FAIL
I haven't seen any good post-delivery options for this... but all the posts I was finding about it seem old. Maybe there is something new that I could add on OEM?

2. It doesn't *beep* when you lock or unlock it...? whaaaat lol come to find out that's an option, not just a setting? Can this be added on somehow or do I have to just deal with it until I trade this one in a few years down the road lol

Also, I got the extended maintenance for 24 months after my CPO maintenance runs out in Nov. but I am wondering, can you just bring the car in for any service and its covered or does it have to be specifically on the maintenance list of things they do at certain intervals? Reason I ask -- the dealer said the car was serviced at 25k miles (it only has 26k now) and the brakes are squeaky. Can I just go to my closest BMW dealership and have them take a look or do brakes not get covered until xx,xxx miles?

Thanks so much in advance!

Beautiful car! I love that White. I just picked up my first BMW as well. taking delivery next week on a Black/Black 330i M Sport, i really wanted that white tho!

You're not alone in thinking that rear camera was standard...I just found out mine won't have it either. I'll learn to deal, or look into an aftermarket.

Enjoy the new car!
