Looks you are on latest software.
There might is some coding for wlan that can be done that can improve the connection

The issue is not the wlan but coding. The system worked flawlessly before the software update at dealer.

I got a new activation code for the feature installer from the original seller, and next day it started working. Strange.

Try this:
- cancel all pairings from idrive and iphone (from carplay to bluetooth device)
- disable bt and wifi from iphone
- change your iphone name (adding a dor or a letter)
- pairing again from idrive
- then activate bt and wifi again and pairing from bluetooth ->it will also ask to pair carplay too

Hope it will works
