I am more and more impressed at your achievements Terry. You are showing the world that you surpass many competitors with a fraction of the logistics.

Congrats, great numbers.

Working on it! We're going to get rained out Saturday but I have a track day Jan 18th. Hopefully the car hooks up.

This dyno doesn't have a boost hookup. But on the glory run it spiked to 16.5 and held 15.

They are below the dyno graphs. The dyno wideband reads 1/3 pt leaner than my LM1 in car wideband for some reason, but I trust the LM1 ratios as they've matched exactly on other dynos.

Thanks! I've always taken the "keep it simple" approach to things. It doesn't give you the best profit margin, but makes for a simple and reliable setup. This dyno is just an example of that. If you compare it to other posted 400rw dyno charts you'll immediately see why I stuck with the factory boost control system.

as a preface i didn't read the thread beyond page 1, so if somebody mentioned this already please excuse me.

terry, or shiv, or whoever, one of you guys should hook up an obd2 reader to your car with/without this cone filter setup and check your intake air temperature readouts. i can see how the cone filter setup might gain power on a dyno with the hood open and fans blowing on it, but with it closed and no heat shield i wouldn't be surprised if you were actually losing power.

when i first got my M3 i made my own 'cold air intake' that turned out to be a 'hot air intake' and i made worse than stock numbers. sure it sounded nice, but that's where it ended with me. as soon as i got a proper cold air intake setup my car seriously woke up.

the only thing i can think of that is an advantage (if you see it that way) is if the air was warmer, but there was more of it coming in you might see a slight bump in power...but that situation is also more dangerous with higher chances of detonation due to the temps. i'd just really like to see some testing done on this setup, because i'm a skeptic at this point and i don't even own a 335

btw, great numbers terry!

I did a little monitoring with the R switch off and intake temps seemed similar, but track testing will tell the whole story.

Great job terry. Looks like the intake was good for some extra horses. So how many H pills can you stuff in there? So I guess we are at a JB2HHR now? lol.

Keep up the good work. Hands down the most cost effective set up so far.

JB2H^2R. 2 is probably the limit, it just depends on the car. Some cars can't even use 1 H pill.

Juice Box makes some nice power. It will be interesting to see if my 335xi has a chance at 300+WHP with the JB2. With the R im sure it does. Hopefully I dyno stock around 250-260ish WHP. Can't Wait.

Well 12:1 isn't too bad. Unless your EGTs were really skyrocketing, it doesn't sound like you're approaching detonation territory anyways. To be a bigger PITA, do you have EGT temps too?

I'm assuming the dyno readout was based on a wideband 02 sensor?

Great stuff.

No EGT data, just the wideband from the dyno. On the LM1 I kiss around 11.9:1 up top. Keep in mind 335i tuning doesn't translate to traditional tuning due to the direct injection.

I need to get back to the track this Sunday! I've already recovered my Mod-money over the holidays . Been choosing my battles wisely!

I'm sold on the DP's...just need to receive the custom fabricated set.

All the best to you at the track. You'll hook-up well!

I just bought it from some guy that wanted to get rid of it, but apparently it came from Vishnu. I hope I don't start throwing codes now (kidding!).

It's just two 3" air filters with 2"->3" magic muffler couplers. Actually the couplers could stand to be a little bigger, maybe 2 1/4".
