Heat gunned my saggy leather - came out great - will it last?
So I took a heat gun to my drivers seat.
Had an indent from what appears to be the right side of my ass... Being fairly boney assed... Anyways, came out great. Looks ALMOST flat. I would give it a strong 8 out of 10, if not better. Wondering, anyone else try this approach? Will it last? |

I have not tried it and I would never ever even consider doing so. The leather retracts itself because it is dried out and I would expect it to crack if you repeat it again and again.
I don't think it will last for long. If you want to prevent stretching the leather you should adjust your seat so you use the whole sitting area to distribute your weight between your ass and legs. The less pressure per square inch the less stretched the leather will be. I have attached an image taken today and the seat has been used for 82.500 miles. Once a year I clean it and treat it with leather balsam. Thats all. My weight is ~180lbs.
