Noise, grip, stress relief...

Had a really shite week at this week so decided to add a few extra miles to my normal 2miles commute...
Its a dry, sunny evening so as soon as she was up to temperature into sport and stick left.
I have to say I am sure the exhaust is getting louder and is much deeper than it was. Only 370 odd miles old but it has changed. I have unplugged the sensor so its open all the time.

Grip of the sport conti are very good I have to say and im getting to trust the car more round fun b roads.

I may have strayed into the 5.5k revs a few times today but I was having a ball and not a car insight!

It really did lighten my mood and really reafirmed my choice of car and engine!

Stroll on the summer and a fully run in engine as she is already turning into a beast! 320bhp my ar53!

Nice...have to say that sport mode with windows down just makes me smile

Lovely I'm getting giddy now.

I have to confess it feels A LOT quicker than the golf R and s3 that I have driven. Some of that will be down to torque, but from what I have read, the 40i is generally pushing 350 stock

I did exactly the same on my way home last night. Really got used to driving it yesterday.

I cannot believe how fast it can go from 80-120....I obviously wasn't on public British roads :.

I may have strayed into well above 5.5k revs with only 350 miles on clock.

Like yours though mine feels different now. It did after 100 miles.

No regrets not going for a 435d for me.
Gotta say I still loved the way my 330d went, just effortless smooth overtaking....just different!

It doesnt make a huge difference in the cabin to be honest but gives a nice growl still in comfort.

This. My commute is about ten miles each way so I've found myself going on a random drive to try and get through run in. Flip iDrive to North Orientation view and basically drive out of London and explore. Also great to understand the car and its capabilites. However, so so frustrating to lift off at 4k... 300 miles to go until I can really have some fun!
