Thoughts on this deal?

Hey everyone! I'm a first time BMW owner and really love this forum. Too bad I didn't find this before I leased the car. I went to the dealer and fell in love with the new 2013 328i xdrives. Walked out with an order. I wanted to see what everyone thought of my deal so I'll be better prepared for the next time.

2013 328i Xdrive (imperial blue with beige leather)
-ordered: tech package, premium package, cold weather package.
-MSRP: around 47995 I think. Supposedly I got the holiday discount but after negotiating etc, I'm not even sure what the final price was.
-3000 down (in retrospect, wish I wouldn't have put this down.)
-no other fees due at signing. Was told everything was rolled into monthly price
-10k miles/yr
-not sure what residual value or MF were (didn't even know about this until after I found these forums.)
-Monthly payment: 510/mo (including all taxes, fees, etc)

What does everyone think? If I got screwed, be gentle. haha

Not too bad considering your situation. Assuming just the options you mentioned puts MSRP at 47445 and invoice at 43460. I think they probably gave you a sale price of $44000 and marked up your MF to .00170.

You could have probably gotten them to $480 per month. Overall I think you made everyone happy, so Merry Christmas!

Term?
Your Tax rate?
Did you come out of a previous BMWFS lease?
Your credit score? (don't tell us your score, just tell us if you qualified for BMW's lowest rate)
Did any of the $3000 include inception $. First payment (which is required), tag fees, state fees?

Assuming 39 months 10K per year a 6% tax rate, a good credit score and that you were not a previous BMWFS customer.

If above is true, you didn't do bad especially not knowing much about leasing.

In the future consider the multiple security deposit option instead of capitalized cost reduction. Much better use of your $.

Thanks for the replies so far! Tax rate was 6% and credit score was great (qualified for lowest rate). Term was for 36 months. I hadn't been in prior bmw lease before. I brought up the 39 month deal and terms that were listed on the BMW website and the dealer acted unfamiliar with it (369/mo at that time.) He said that those prices were for very basic packages (which I saw was only premium and BT.) However, he kept pushing me to do 36 months.

In the end, I'm just happy to have the car but I'm growing very impatient waiting to get it from overseas.

Well since this is an order a couple things can happen

1) Do you have a sales order showing the production order #? Not just a vehicle inquiry report, but an actual negotiated sales order? Contact BMWFS and let them know you want to take advantage of the $1K holiday cash offer. They should lock you in for another 60 days past the promotion expiration.

2) Also let BMWFS know you want to lock in the December lease program. I've seen this where it goes both ways. Sometimes they'll allow it, other times they won't. If you can, do it because surely the residual will be lower in February.

3) Make sure dealer has a Munich build as an SA build won't get here in time to take advantage of the above 2 items.

4) Note, BMW will have a small price increase beginning January (probably about $500 on a 328i). Likely the price your dealer quoted does not include the increase. If it does, then great! Just be aware.

Since you haven't done the lease paperwork yet, consider the multiple security deposit option. Dealer may try to talk you out of it because it can cut into their profit. The benefit of the $3000 as a multiple security to buy down your interest rate far outweighs the cap cost reduction.

What PW were you assigned and hopefully you got a Munich build as SA builds can take what seems like forever to get here!

Good luck. The wait is 1/2 the fun!
