JB4 does not use all of the same connectors, it doesn't use the MAF and it taps into the CAN which stage 1 doesn't. Other benefits of JB4 is map 7 and code clearing which in turns allow you to run a catless DP without CEL lights.

I just ordered the usb cable and will be going that route as here in Florida there is ample 93 octane.

I know, all I'm saying is the maps that are +3 and +4 psi should preform similarly to running stage 1 in +3 or +4 psi mode

I think I had not even realized there was more than one setting on the Stage 1. I had to go read up about it. Thanks for posting. It was appreciated.

Sent an email tonight. They responded tonight. There is only one map on the stage one jb3. There is no 4 psi 93 octane map. You have to install the jb4 for that map. Not a bad expenditure of cash but not what I hoped for. Maybe I will do it down the road. For now I just want to know what map 6 is.

Bumped the boost to 4 psi and running 93 octane. So far no compromise on drivability, but I also can't really objectively state that it is really cranking that much more power. Definitely not the difference between stock and stage 1. Will write more once I have had some time with it and put it in other modes besides sport and DS.

When I install the stage1 bms and put some 100oct gas th difference was very clear at the track. Full stock with only bms stage1 I did 13.7 13.6 constantly.

Have had BMS Stage 1 on my 328 w/ Injen for a couple months now and love it, so just bought Stage 1 for my wife's 320 and looking forward to more power in that car! Right now the difference between two is HUGE

Other than what appears to be worse mpgs I have been enjoying 4 psi and 93 octane with the BMS Stage 1. It pulls hard though it may be placebo and it is a lot less than objective because I also installed an m performance exhaust at the same time. So take it with a grain of salt.
As an FYI the email I received from BMS stated the following, "We don't recommend raising the boost over stock on the 28i models (328/528, etc) as it is preferred if you need additional performance that you purchase the JB4 instead. More information about the stage 1 and JB4 tuners for the N20/N26 engines can be found here: http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showpo...69&postcount=1" |

Been a couple days since bumping it up. I have been scooting around with the wife and kid in the car, so nohard acceleration. I have noted a jerkiness during shifting that was not there with 3 psi when half open throttle accelerating. Will play with it tomorrow when it is just me in the car and see if I can get a repeat.

That's what other people reported. Not as smooth power delivery with 4psi.
