I am coming up from Wolves.

I suggested a back route to the meeting, via Wrexham or similar.

The M6 north of me is 50 mph pot hole / hole dodging.

The A5 and 483 are not bad either.

If the decision is made to meet up for those heading from Brum and further south then off the M54 would be okay (assuming avoiding the M6).

Try redoing the route via Bell Inn at Tong

That should force the route up the A41.

Google maps claims only an hour from me to Chester, going past the Bell Inn. Happy to meet there or anywhere else on the way. Presume Brigand will know a good meeting spot?

The Bell at Tong makes a decent meet up place.

It's off the M54 at the RAF Cosford / Shifnal turn off.

You head up the A41 about a mile or so any large old pub on left hand side of road.

Reasonable carpark.

It's then bang up the A41.

An alternative would be Garden Centre at Albrighton which is about 2 miles (or less) from same M54 turn off.

If going up the M6 Toll be aware of unmarked police cars and the odd van.

Also if going up the M6 rather than A41 beaware that the M6 has Hadecs 3.
