403m wheels-widest tread?
Tire rack told me that the widest tread I can put on the 19" 403m wheels are 285/30r19. Anybody else have this size on the rear?

I am putting in 275/30/19 Mich PSS. My guy said no problem. You should be fine. I've heard 295 would fit but not 100% sure on that size. I would imagine the offset, which I don't know on the 403m, will let you know the answer. Post the ET and someone will know for sure.

The rear of the 403m's are 8.5in wide (19x8.5). The ideal tire size for an 8.5in wide wheel is about a 245-255. I suppose you could go up to a 265 on the 8.5in wheel, but there is no way a 285 should be mounted on that narrow of a wheel.

Also I forgot to mention are you Square or Staggered? 9.5 rear might work with the 285.. my guy suggested I go with a conservative approach and do the 275/30/19 on 9.5 rear so I have no problems at all. I will know for sure in about 3 weeks. Everyone else said I will be just fine. 245/35 on 19's at 8.5 I have seen mentioned. Depends on lowering and and overall height of tire I believe. Again, someone else will chime in correct me if I am wrong, which I probably am since I am a newbie myself.

I thought 275 on an 9.5" wheel was already considered aggressive. But 275 on a 8.5" wheel? Would love to hear your impression after they are mounted. |

Any more feedback on this guys?
Has anyone went with anything outside of the stock setup with 8" in th front and 8.5" in the back? Idealy I would like to get a hand on a set of rear rims to put on the front if anyone can make some suggestions please PM me.

Seems to be 245/35 front and 255/35 (stock size) might be the way to go, closer to a square setup and close in overall tire circumference (25.7 vs. 26).

The 403M wheel is a 19x8 with a 36 offset in the front, and 19x8.5 with a 47 offset in the rear.
I think you might have some clearance issues as from my understanding the lower the offset the wider or more the wheel stick out and the higher the offset the wheel will sit inwards, if that makes sense. So think when your steering wheel is at full lock there is a chance the tyre will catch the body of the car, but you must 1st try, I might be wrong Yesterday I fitted the 433M wheel on my F30 335, unfortunately the importer only imports 35 offset wheels, so I had to have the rears machined, to probably about a 42, which now just sit flush with my rear wheel arch |
