I looked through it to get an idea of how it looks like around the fogs and hopefully u might be able to help me with some questions. Bare with me now.. I have an EU-spec factory M Sport and I´ve now come to the conclusion that I hate the fogs, even though I had them xenon-converted a year ago. I want the clean and sportier US-spec look, I turn them on very rarely and feel they´re simply not needed. So, I´ve been scanning realoem and comparing the US-models vs the EU ones to compare mesh-parts etc and this is what I´ve found. M Sport w/ fogs have parts 21, 23 and 24 for left and right. Referred to as "M NSW" where NSW is the german acronym for foglights M Sport w/o fogs have parts 22 and 25. These are referred to as "M RACE" in the supplements column. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...&fg=15&lang=en My first question; 1. On page 44 in your guide, under step 23d, you write "d. Install “bumper support” assembly (part# 51118056321, 51118056322) into the m-bumper.". Those are part 25 in the picture and should(?) belong to the fogless M setup. Did you really use these part numbers and if so, how did the fogs fit in there? 2. EU-spec M Sport has the fogs and 1 small cooler (mentioned on step 32 and pic of it on page 52) while the US-spec has a cooler on each side. If I were to remove the foglamp and install these US-spec parts , would I end up with a gaping hole on the side where I lack a cooler? This is my fear, cause I don´t want to create a debris collector. Below is your pic from page 52. Having dismounted these parts and seen how things look in the area, do you have any tips or advice you can give? Thanks in advance

1. No. Sorry, typo on the wrong part. If you look at page 2, the vendor who sold me the retrofit kit has the right part# on the packing list. I used M NSW parts: 51118054163 and 51118054164. I updated the instructions. Thanks for proof-reading my materials. 2. If you removed the fog lights, then you would only need part# 118054155 and 51118054156. Right, you would have a hole through the grill. I'm thinking trim cover #23, part #51118054261 and #51118054262, might serve the purpose of covering this hole. The retrofit kit did include these 2 parts although I asked for the kit "with fog lamp". My car, on the driver side, doesn't have the secondary cooler, so it has a "void" in that area behind and next to the fog light anyway. I checked, no leaves, no debris. No one can see thru that far anyway. Why remove the fog lights? They look cool. My car looks like a space ship at night. I turn on these lights - whether we have fog in Southern California or not. |

Well I already have a unique looking f31 with my minor mods and want to stay true to the clean black/silver look I've got. Will give it a meaner look, to resemble it's owner :-p

I was reading your write up and you did mention I need to buy the lower bar from bmw, but what about the top mount (#1 on picture attached) Do I need everything else in that picture to do the retrofit or can I use the existing sport line. |

#1 was a re-used. If all you got were the deformation elements, bumper, and shock absorber -- you are missing A LOT of parts. In my document, I printed the packing slip of all the parts that I got from a dealer, and they all fit together. Most of the parts from sport-line trim couldn't be re-used; they just didn't fit - like a puzzle.

My bad. You can re-use 3, it's the larger aluminum piece of the deformation element. You need 5 instead (left and right). Without 5, you can't secure 4. You can re-use 6 if you can take it off the old deformation element. Yes, you need 4, 7, 8, 9 as well.

What parts would be required for an existing US-Spec M-Sport 335i without the fogs? My concern is the wiring - are the foglight connectors there and just tucked away or would there be a wiring modification required?

Little help
Hi, I'm just about to do this retro fit, I have the bumper, all the grills, is there a way to do this without buying the deformation elements? I have the air ducts too, but I'm really confused as to what else to get... thanks
