Now USB also works fine .
One (new) issue still remains, the bluetooth connectivity is very bad. I have to put the smartphone near to the roof to have a properly signal. My NBT Telephone Firmware: TN.002.038.015. With HU_ENTRY I had no issues with weak signal. Hmm weird. Anyone else had this problem before? |

I have a F22 220i and I want to upgrade to NBT navigation. I know it has been discussed many times but I hope someone has the answer straight forward.
My car has a built date 6/2014. I have the large instr.cluster and I am not sure if i have seperate combox or not. What kind of NBT should I look in ebay? From F30, F21, or F20?? |

What do you have right now? Only handsfree or the cic Navigation? For F30 combox is in the trunk, for F20 I dont know.
NBT should be the same for F20/F21/F30/F31/F34/etc. . But if you buy a complete package with the 8,8 '' display and iDrive then I would search only for "F20/F21 Nbt". The display for F30 is a little bit different and will not fit in your F22. The backcover has to be replaced to fit properly in a F22, so if you find a good deal for F30 then go for it and also buy a plastic backcover for F20. Last edited by BeatB; 04-01-2015 at 01:53 AM.. |

I contacted someone and he has a deal for me 8.8' Screen, Headunit, I-drive controller + emulator for 850 euro. In addition, he says he will code the unit for me. It looks like a good deal or not? |

I went for the above as I wanted to add an extra USB connection, which you can't on the one below (also tends to be cheaper): If it's the one above (less connections), then it's not such a good offer. |

Orange/Brown is another USB connector for Smartphones (Snap-in adapter)
Green connector is one more USB connector for the telematic communication box (TCB) I have them but dont use them since I have none of those adapter/modules in my car. |

You can use the Green as an additional USB port (which is what I've done), for example route it to the USB socket holder in your glovebox.

Good Idea . Must check if I have the socket available. Because some months ago I wanted to check if I have the USB port for service in the glove box but could not find it and maybe there is the empty socket only so I can buy another cable and route it.

It'll be along the top, it's covered by a small plastic square. I use it to plug in a USB and keep the armrest USB for BMW Apps or Charging. Or you could just leave the usb wire between the front of the NBT and the control panel, use a micro USB, it will stay there no problems. To get access to it, just unclip the plastic cover just above the cup holders.

For what it's worth...
Yesterday I was at the dealer to configure my new car. When talking about the navigation system they told me that now both the hu_entrynav and hu_nbt have the same headunit (with the same cpu) and only the screens are different. Was this just a bad sales guy or do we just have to change the screens in the new cars? |

Is it safe to update the retrofitted Nbt through USB? I want to download the firmware update from the BMW homepage with the donor vin and hopefully my problem with bad Bluetooth connection will be gone.
Anyone else did this? Is it safe with the emulator? |

You can update your NBT with the USB File from the BMW Homepage. Maybe it will help for you problem.
But this is not a complete Firmware update for your NBT. |
