2014 335i xDrive finishing production - VIN check results question
Hi all, my 2014 335i xDrive is finishing production and i'm now able to get information on the build of the car via the VIN number provided. I have a couple of questions regarding the details the vin check has provided versus what I ordered.
1) I ordered the sport auto transmission with the shift paddles and the VIN results do show the sport auto transmission: S2TBA SPORT-AUTOMATIK GETRIEBE Sport automatic transmission However, the VIN results don't specify shift paddles anywhere. The steering wheel information only contains the following: S248A LENKRADHEIZUNG Steering wheel heater S255A SPORT-LEDERLENKRAD Sports leather steering wheel Will the shift paddles be explicitly stated in the VIN check for a 2014 MY F30 or is it "implied" in either the sport auto transmission line item or the sports leather steering wheel item? 2) The 2014 MY 335 should automatically have the NBT navigation with touchpad however the VIN check displays only the following: S609A NAVIGATIONSSYSTEM PROFESSIONAL Navigation system Professional Should the VIN check specifically state "touchpad" anywhere? By the way, the VIR as provided by the dealer has these options listed correctly: 2TB Sport automatic transmission with shift paddles 609 Navigation system w/ touchpad Additionally these options show up in the "Track my Car" feature on bmwusa.com, however just thought that they might/should have been explicitly stated on a the VIN check results? Thanks all. Last edited by ERdiesel; 08-08-2013 at 09:38 AM.. |

As long as it is on the build sheet from your CA your car will be built as specified. I would never trust a 3rd party VIN decoding site with the full accurate information.
If you look on the order guide it lists the nav as option 609. They won't list every single option through those VIN sites. I wouldn't worry, If you really are concerned, talk to your CA and have them pull a VIR through their system.

The VIR does have the options listed correctly, however i've read stories of items listed on the VIR not being listed on the VIN and ultimately not being delivered on so just wondering how "specific" is the VIN in explicitly calling out every major feature. |

3rd party VIN decoders are based on BMWAG codes for options.
If you have 2TB or 2TBA you have the Sports Auto Trans with paddles. If you ordered a MY14 car Model 143Q you will have the NBT Nav and touchpad. If car production date is 7/1 or later then its MY14. VIN decoder will provide production date. Don't sweat it!

Okay thanks!!! Not much I can do now at this point but wait. Car is in transit to the port of exit which I assume will be Bremerhaven since the car was built in Munich and hopefully it won't sit too long there before being loaded onto a ship for it's trip over here |
