Sad news...
I'll be trading into an X1 from my 328i. The vibration issue is just too annoying for me to tolerate. I love the car, but I'm hoping I'll love the X1 just as much. Plus, I like the idea of sitting up a little higher than the 328i, without sacrificing gas mileage. |

From searching this thread, it seems that no one has reported having this vibration problem on a car with Variable Sport Steering (VSS). For anyone that is considering exchanging their car due to this problem, it seems that it would be worth at least test driving a model with VSS. FWIW, I'm picking up my '13 328i M Sport with VSS later this week, I'll be sure to post here if I do notice the vibration issue.

Heard back from BMW NA today. She left a message saying they didn't have any updates and were still discussing a fix or maybe swapping out the car with my dealer. This was an exciting non-update/update.
I originally called about a week ago. |

Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum but I've been reading this thread for a month. I've been experiencing the shake/vibration issue with my base 328i which I got in July, just wondering if anyone else in Canada is experiencing the issue, specifically Vancouver? If so, how is your dealership handling the issue? I'm starting to grow quite impatient with my dealer as they are taking quite long to give me any updates. Thanks! |

Is there any correlation between what you are feeling and small imperfections (bumps, ridges, etc) on the road surface?
What tire pressures are people running? |

I have exactly the same steering wheel vibrations between 80-120 kph in my new 320d which I received in June. My local BMW dealer in Sweden has checked "everything" but the problem persists. I think it´s really bad that BMW obviously has no solution yet.
Looking forward to updates on this major issue... Carl |

Just took my car in to have the issue documented. Their attempt to fix the vibration was to perform a road force balance and couldn't get one of the wheels to balance and they blamed the tire. A new tire has been ordered in attempt to correct the vibration.

Another 2013 328i sedan with steering wheel vibration
I took delivery 4 weeks ago and noticed the problem just a few days after getting the car. I thought it must be a tire balance problem except that it would come and go. Again from about 45 to 55 mph. I was even able to take a video of the steering wheel shaking. Some times it is very minor and other times very noticeable. Dealer said they contacted BMWNA and they are aware of the problem but currently have no solution. Dealer did a wheel balance and checked entire suspension to no avail. Over the last couple of weeks it does seem to be less severe and often but still shows up once in awhile. Makes me crazy.
