If you are doing European Delivery forget about using your iPod Classic.

Just picked up my 2014 435i in Munich. The European maps now come loaded into a USB drive that connects into the USB in the center compartment. This is the only USB available. Coming from an M3 I was used to 2 USB connectors one in the center compartment and the other one in the glove compartment. Since I use an iPod Classic 160gig with all my music I was not able to use the navigation and my iPod at the same time. This issue will be resolved once the car comes to the US since the navigation maps will be installed into the hard drive.
Just an inconvenience that I wish I knew before hand, then I would have loaded some music into my iPhone 5s in order to use the Bluetooth option.

You could always use the Aux Out.

Well, it may be fixed once the car is state side. There are a few threads regarding the iPod Classic and its usability with F3x. Mine would stop working periodically and others have had the same experience. I do not know if it was ever corrected with an update (to the car or the iPod) because I purchased a newer iPod. You should be able to find some info on this site if you search iPod Classic.

Probably better to just bring a USB stick and load all the songs there and once you pick up the car, copy everything to the hard drive via the USB port in the armrest. With the latest NBT system, you get album art covers just like how you can with your iPod or iPhone.

It still kind of sucks how you can't do the same with any Apple device.

Would a USB splitter solve this particular issue?

I asked the same question and the answer was no.
