20" Rim Information - F30

Hey all. I wanted to start a repository for information on fitting 20" rims on our F30's. I did a lot of searching and didn't find much info; so here we go! Please add with verified options! The only thread I found seems to have died: http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=797904

I found my car on the showroom floor with a BMW 20" rim option. Although I did not buy those, I immediately knew it was a viable option. I'll start with all the information that I know and everyone else can add.
I have the Sportline which has 26" tall F/R tires. That's my baseline. Of course you can go shorter, but I've no idea how much taller we can fit safely. Anyone?

Here's the BMW 20" option that came on my car. And if we all use the same format, it'll be very easy to sift through:

Rim - Tire Size - - Tires - - - - - - - - - - Height - Comments
8" - F225/35-20 - Pirelli P Zero Run Flat - - 26.3 - NO rubbing
8" - R255/30-20 - Pirelli P Zero Run Flat - - 26.2 - NO rubbing

Your rear should be 8.5J.
Offsets would be useful.
Height itself is not that interesting - OEM wheel+tire diameter on 20's is the same as 19's, 18's and 17's. Tire sizes give an indication if the diameter has changed.

What he said. ^^

This thread would be more useful if people posted up specific rims that have the correct width/ offset that have been confirmed to fit the F30.

Offsets would be great; yes.
Height is extremely useful. That's how you figure out what tire options you can run. Like I said I am going to order 20" rims and I don't want to run a 25 series tire if I choose to go wider than stock. Knowing I can go higher than the OEM 26" overall height allows me to look at some 265/30-20, 275/30-20 and 285/30-20 tires. Not all tires are created equal; they can very by a 1/4" very easily which can mean the difference between clearance and rubbing.

Just ordered a set of custom Forgeline rims. Went with 20's. 9" front and 10" rears. As Forgeline has custom made rims for other 335's (F30's even) we know they'll fit. Now I just have to decide on tires which will be 245/275.

They are probably 3+ weeks out but I'll post a link to installed pics once they get here.

boomn29, wheels look great! Awesome wheel color on red!

Mind if I ask you what tire sizes you went with? Looks perfect. Thanks!

245f; 275r. I think I could have done the 285 rear... almost did, it would have been tight. Hankook Evo V12's.
There's not a lot of staggered options in those sizes; like 3-4 altogether and these were 1/2 the cost of the Michelin Super Sports.

Super thanks to Forgeline wheels for working with me. My task: what's the fattest set I can fit on the car! Oh... and I might lower it. Thanks guys! My 3rd set altogether.

Thanks for the response. I'm guessing it's 245 35 20 and 275 30 20?

I'm in the same dilemma as well. I want the PSS but double the cost on tires that won't last very long isn't really the smartest investment. Also, you won't be tracking on 20's so I'm probably going to go with the Hankooks as well. Great performing tire for the price.

I'm trying to keep this car off the track. I sold my caged racecar (2006 Evo) which is why I bought this new last year. Sold my truck & trailer too!

Are you selling the tires with the wheels?
If so, what are the tire sizes?
What are the wheel offsets?
How much are you asking?

Thanks.
