2016 vs 2015 BMW
Gorgeous car, congratulations. And thanks for the thorough review, helps new guys like me a lot.
Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but are their any driving differences between the 2015 and 2016 for the 328i? I know the engines are the same, so I'm wondering if the steering and/or suspension have changed - one sales guy on phone said no, but he seemed uncertain (and he was trying to move '15s ) There are deals on '15s and I'm trying to figure out if I would miss anything (beyond aesthetic differences). I understand starting in '16 the Nav will be updated over the air, not sure if the graphics are improved. Thanks! |

a big difference in suspension is the 2016 is a 5 bolt strut design as opposed to the outgoing 3 bolt design. drive them back to back, if you can't feel a difference then go with a 2015, it'll save you some money. you should be able to easily get 10% off msrp on a 2015

OP has got a fantastic looking car. From someone who just bought a 2015 335i a few months ago, I really don't think you made a bad decision.
I LOVE the 335i and the I6 is soooo smooth. But the 4 cyl still makes plenty of power, and it's smooth for a 4 pot and by the standards of nearly every other vehicle on the planet. I also agree the 2.0 cars feel a bit more nimble, on initial turn in there just isn't quite as much lean over the front tires. Once taken a set there really isn't much in it but initial bit is a bit higher on the 2 liter cars IMO. I go days without going WOT in my 335i, having the 4 cyl for most of my commute would make no real difference, in fact the pro's, better fuel economy, slightly more nimble feel, might outweigh the benefits of the I6? I dunno...I don't regret my choice and you shouldn't regret yours. What a great car in a great color. Congratulations.

AW - Coral Red
RWD & MT Packages - Drivers Assistance & Cold Weather ============================= Delivery is expected around Christmas 2016. Decided keep as much as vanilla flavor than adding bunch of packages. I know it's 2016, even I decided to go with halogen over new white LED. Never attracted to any navigations in any car. I am a super tech guy, none of the inbuilt car gadgets/software have attracted / impressed me to date. It's just me I guess. Planning to drive for 50K miles and sell it.. Just wanted to play with MT & RWD. |
