Sure, but please re-read the 2nd post in this thread. If your 4Series is built after 07/2015, my Adapter won't work.

Cheapest option is to buy entire kit from Tischer as mentioned - it includes all the wiring pigtails/connectors & you assemble it yourself (route I took)

Or get premade from forum member mentioned

Or get from eBay here

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-BMW-...53.m1438.l2649
That's right.
Forum members can get the adapter premade from me (PM me) and also for a much better price than ebay!

Hi, here is my solution. I think it's much cleaner and cheaper than the Y cable solution. You just need 1x Universal pin terminal uncoded #61136931929 and 3x pin contact 0,75 MM˛ #61131393723 (without cable)

True, but with this you have to cut or splice the wires coming from your car.
My solution avoids cutting and is completely reversible. Which I think is the cleaner way.

But anyway, thanks for sharing this alternative.

Hi Dante, I didn't cut the wires, just stripped the insulation about 10mm on each wire to get 5mm folded wire. It's kind of reversible since you can unplug the radio trim any time and the cupholder LED will still work and the radio trim will be untouched.

You will just have one more empty socket back there :P

Of course, this is an alternative to your original work I did it this way and wanted to share thanks!

Hi from a soon to be owner, (hopefully), of a 328 GT.

I'd like to do this retrofit too, but I'll have Luxury line interior with chrome trim and I didn't want to lose that.

Can I order the new bezel and take the LED string out of it and put it into my chrome piece? I can't find enough pictures to tell if the new piece is bigger and has a dedicated channel for the LED. It looks like it can fit, with maybe only the bottom "legs" that are used to screw it to the car being a problem since the LED string would be behind those legs, making two dark spots where the light would be blocked.

Dante, do you have any idea if moving the LED string from the new trim panel to the old chrome trim panel would work?

Thanks!

If you go back through thread you should see posts regarding this from a German forum. The process is a pita but doable.

Exactly. It's managable, but involves lots of dremeling and glueing.

Thanks for letting me know!

I went through as many pages of this posting and other forum's postings as I could, but it was after 1am and with over 30 pages on this thread I must have missed that part.

I might try the dremel approach because I want all the Lux elements that the car is coming with. If I'm successful I'll post procedure and pics if they are not already there.

Another thing:
Before you cut up your Luxury line trim, you might want to check out the pre-LCI 4 series Luxury line trim. I think with the gloss black center it looks much better than the 3 series trim . I've had it in my car before the illuminated LCI trim.

Wow, you're right, that version of the Luxury line trim does look great with the shiny black.

But being pre-LCI then that means it won't have the LED rope in it, and won't have space for it either right? (Actually I realize now that I read that the 4series does not get the ambient on this piece pre or post LCI).

So both the trim that I have and the shiny black Luxury trim both would need to be dremel and glued to move the LEDs?

thanks!

I did this mod yesterday to my 2013 F31. It was quite easy and looks great!

Thanks to Dante for the idea and the cable as well!

Completed this DIY today. Thanks for the instructions!

I haven't read through the entire thread, but the 1st page of the thread doesn't explain how to remove the radio and climate control panel from the original trim. I found this to be a bit daunting knowing the price of those parts. I was able to study the replacement trim for the orientation of the retaining clips. Luckily I completed the job with no broken parts
