If you had to prioritize purchasing exterior vs. interior M Performance..
Hi all,
If you had to prioritize getting M Performance exterior aerodynamic pieces (front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser) versus interior Carbon Fiber w/Alcantara trim pieces (entire kit including shifter, parking brake, boot, and side/dash inserts) which would you get first and why? |

Well, seeing as you didn't say anything about the relative weight of functionality vs. aesthetics, I'm guessing your main motive is aesthetic. So my answer is, the interior because you will spend more time looking the interior more than you will the exterior.
If the driver's seat were located outside the car, I'd say the exterior. Also, if you are going to race the car and the performance parts were going to yield some edge on the track, go with the exterior first.

Exterior for sure. I did get a performance carbon fiber sport auto shifter. That was enough for me.

At the end of the day, only you can decide for yourself. But I will do a little of both. Perhaps focus more on the interior.
To me, the M Sport is beautiful the way it is. The lips and side skirts is too loud for my taste and might attract unwanted attention. Plus the front lip is most likely to get damaged out of all interior/exterior mods. I will however do the rear lower diffuser though not necessarily M Performance and look into a quad tip exhaust setup. As far as interior goes, I will wrap my existing trims with cf vinyl for a fraction of the cost. You can probably do all the interior trims for $50 or less. Personally I prefer leather on the shift knob, parking brake and steering wheel. The alcantara trim is pretty tits though. Anyways, everyone has a different vision for his/her ride, which is why you have to decide for yourself. Not to jinx you or anything, but I wouldn't do the front splitter unless I already have the budget for a replacement and is mentally prepared for that to happen. Roads in Toronto can be pretty bad, I heard NYC is no better? |
