funny how a lot of us complain that we don't get the "cool" cars that europe gets then one comes that its a bit out of the norm, and it gets a ton of "what's the points????"
Will I get the Grand coupe, probably not, but i like the idea of a 5 door hatchback. I also welcome it, if this was 2 years ago I'd consider it. I hate how everything here has to be SUV centric, a 4 door, or coupe or it doesn't make sense.

Considering I didn't want to wait to be able to order a 435GC at/near invoice, I pulled the trigger on a 335i. I'll probably be ready to consider a 435GC around the time the 2016 model year is released.

The 335i I drove had the same feeling other than being fast Again just my opinion, this car is no 3 series. |

I may not love the steering(didn't love the E90s either), but it doesn't mean I agree with exaggeration that this car is not what the 3 series is/was.

What's also interesting is that on a six year product cycle, one can lease a new BMW bodystyle every single time one re-up's for the rest of your life: F30 > Wait 36 Months > F36 > Wait 36 Months > New 3 Sedan > Wait 36 Months > New F36 Gran Coupe LCI? We don't need no stinkin' LCI... |

I will be very interested to see the price delta between the F30/F31's and this. The fact that its a hatch makes it so much more useful in real life.

The 4 series GC is killing the F30 in the poll at the end of the article. |

Remember, the F30 is 2+ years old, and the GC doesn't look all that different. It can't command the 'hot new model' premium for very long. |

Just an FYI, I find the BMW EPS every sensitive to weight, and so lighter wheels and tires had a very nice affect on steering and the springs helped steering and handling. I find this to be more-so than any other car I have had as I do wheels/tires/springs on every car I have owned over the past 20 years.

I shoot for a 20% decrease in unsprung weight. With my 18" 400Ms being 26.5lbs each, my 19's being 22lbs is about on target. Most would consider that to be fairly light for a 19" wheel. If I were tracking my car I would put an even lighter 18" wheel on instead. But I have my winter OZs in 17x8" which are about 18lbs each.

I go for the best tire, in my case the PSS and hope the weights are not bad. It was lighter than my RFTs by at least a pound. I would not let weight be too much of a determining factor in my tire selection, only if I was undecided between 2-3 brands/models.
