Haha I figured so, that's why I edited it a bit to make it more clear
Ahh so you're like 4 days behind us in CA, that's a race indeed then, seeing how I need those 4 days for shipping from the mainland to Hawaii =)

We ordered a Glacier Silver 335i on February 22, and mybmw does not even recognize our production number yet! Our salesperson says it is scheduled for production the first week of April.

i think theres either a huge delay in updating the toll free number system or there is some gap in the process.
today, 3/20 is the first day i received a new update in from the toll free number. it changed from "your car is scheduled but with no production date" to "your car is in the paint shop with completion by 3/21". so it basically skipped a few productions codes, even though the website had shown i started production late last week. |

I'm having a similar experience. My CA luckily grabbed a car that was already allocated and changed it to my specs. It went into production a week ago today and the toll free number is telling me it has an estimated completion date of today, and is currently in the paint shop. I'm not sure of the accuracy of the number or website, especially because the website still has not updated to all of my specs (it has everything except I didn't order the msport suspension and the interior finish is different). I will make one last call tonight and see if it says completed.

im just surprised the toll free service reporting is so delayed and off. it used to be fairly accurate. it's about a week late in reporting what the website reported last week and it basically never updated for a month. the toll free number should have at least told me when the production date was set, at least thats how i remember it used to be. |

Well, I thought I would give it another try today since it seemed that some of you were getting lucky with your orders. The 'mybmw' link still does not recognize my production number, so I called the 800 number again. It still says that the vehicle is scheduled for production with no confirmed production date.

you can forget about it...
it takes at most 10 days for the car to get out of the production line, and loaded into the truck toward port, and then it takes another 6 weeks at least for you to get across the atlantic... I would say Mid-May at the earliest, and that rushing... I could be wrong, hopefully for you.

yeah i dont think it takes more than 2 weeks to cross the atlantic to the east coast. its about 21-25 days from bremerhaven to west coast.
my car is at the port waiting for a vessel for the last few days. im thinking ill be on the TOMAR but it doesnt depart till 4/10 with 5/2 scheduled arrival on the west coast. TOMAR is the next WW vessel headed to port hueneme... sigh, just missed getting on the GLORIOUS LEADER that left port on 3/25 |

The Ships don't go straight to final destination state or at least close to it?

Question guys
I just ordered my 335i sport last week. Can I ask you how do you add the M suspension?? I didn't see that option when I was ordering the car. Is that some kind of special request?
Thanks guys! |
