Re the interior, I've now seen the full leather interior and it hugely lifts the cabin. Okay it's not 5/7 series level but it's a massive improvement on the normal car. As said before, at full whack (£72k list for what I want for M4 Conv) there is no way I'm buying - that's just too much money.

I got the opportunity to look over an i8 as well, at the same time (not a bad collection, M3, M4 and i8).. I am pleased to report to the forum that the wheel arch gaps on the i8 pass muster but I'm not sure about it's engine noise, though.. Must be the turbochargers..

I actually saw my first F80 M3 in the flesh today, it was Sapphire Black and looked absolutely fantastic in the sunshine! Also although i haven't seen it in the flesh, Sakhir Orange looks very good to me if you want some colour! Neither of those tickle your fancy? |

... but I am now thinking of going retro from the Individual catalogue (not the few choices on the Configurator, but from the wider selection, which includes some of the older classic colours from the BMW heritage..)..

I am getting them confused, yes... I'll need to have a look at one in Sakhir Orange then...

My dealer has the Sakhir M3 and M4 apparently. May drop in later to get a pic or two as the wife needs a new car!

White M4 just arrived. With black wheels it does look rather good.

When the configurator first started the wheels looked to be simply black (as per the picture in @gtsussex 's post.. but, now, they look to be black with polished fronts..

Nice motor they have there Guy. I'd have had AW again in a heartbeat if my last 2 cars weren't that.
Dave I'm pretty certain the wheels must be the black and silver combo, unless someone has coated them, they're the £160ish option from the silver ones that are standard. Do look really good.

They are black silver combo - looks far better on flesh! They've also got Austin Yellow just come in - not for me.
Terry - have to drive past dealership to get home so quite often pop in for a bit of self torture

Oh my goodness.
Dropped by the dealer to, amongst other things, look at the new babies... Well it's the M3 for me, for sure. Had both in Sakhir and the M3 looks simply amazing. I was given the keys for 20 minutes or so to have a look around. Despite them attempting to goad me into a drive I resisted as today is damp and I want the first drive to be in the dry/sun. A demo M5 arrives so so I'll drive them back to back. For some reason I can't get remotely interested in the M4! The sound is amezzin' as others have said much more akin to how new F1 engines which I like - sounds 'tight' and I love a good old fashioned turbo whine. I can't wait to have a go - it's possible I sent out a few too many buying signs to my salesman. Poker face, not.

I have come back today from driving the M4 and feel underwhelmed! I was expecting the car to feel different than it did. i guess the car was too good in the dry and the power was alot more linear than I was expecting. It felt a little quicker than my car up to 80 and I only got to pick up speed to about 90mph anyway with the sales rep along side me. The sales lady was shocked and booked me in with there M Sport specialist who can really show what the car can do. i guess I drove the C63 Amg coupe and found that so frantic and wild, i was expecting something similar. Even the sound didn't sound as good as the C63. I may change my mind when I am taken out again. At the moment, I need more from the car to want me to part with another £20,000. For those who have one, you are very lucky as it is better than the 335D but not for me to spend that much more money.

Oh no just read some posts on the M4 board, early adopters getting shafted. Launch price FULL leather was a £3100 option (over the already excellent EXTENDED leather). Price now is £1300. Eeek some not too happy campers and I can understand. I think if you wanted a manual M4 with no extras you might be talking sub £50k is 2 years. That's worth a re-think then.

That's exactly what I mean! On a track the M4 would be a different animal but the 335d with the ACS springs is good enough for me for every day usage. So I cannot justify the 20k additional cost for the M car.
