M4 wheels 437M on F36 435d Gran Coupe

Hi All, I'm new to the site. After reading a lot of posts in this forum I decided to upgrade my 435d M Sport GC XDrive 18in 400m wheels to 19 inch M4 437M wheels. I've powder coated the wheels to BMW ferric grey shade 2 and running 235/40/19 fronts and 265/35/19 tyres on the rear. I've got stock suspension.

The wheels look great and the car drives well but both the fronts tyres rub on the suspension struts when reversing at full lock. Doesn't seem to rub in any other conditions. Anyone else who has upgraded to 437M on 4 series got this issue?

Can't help on the rubbing issue but that color looks great on the wheels!

Damn that looks good. Doesn't look like you have any space to push it out anymore to prevent rubbing.

Thanks! Yea really pleased the colour. Spacers will push it out too much. I'm surprised it's running because some people on this forum who runs these wheels on F3x models have tried 255s at the front without rubbing.

the problem is the tire height, not the tire width. you should have gotten a 235/35 or 245/35. a 10mm spacer may eliminate the rub.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will try that when I change the tyres. If I went 235/35 would it mean the rear has to change to 265/30 from current 265/35? This for Xdrive compliance?

My understanding is matching left to right is more important than matching front to rear, but yes switching the rears would be best, plus it'll be an even look. If you can sell/return the set, go for it. Otherwise probably not worth the price to swap the rears if it drives fine otherwise.

Honestly i think the spacers will push it out enough to prevent it from rubbing, but you'll need to get under the car and turn the wheel to see where it's rubbing.

Did you ever fix the rubbing issue. What tire size you end up using?

I jut did the same mod and my tires are 225/40 and 255/35

The tires are sitting flush with the fender. It's so perfect couldn't believe how perf it came out.

I wouldn't go 235 x 265 - I heard all the rubbing issues. With my setup don't have to worry about that

That's awesome, my stock 442M is 225/40 and 255/35. I can swap the tires on to the 437M. Does it look stretched? Please post some photos. Thx

Time for me to change my tyres. Does your set up make the tyres look stretched? The sizes are outside the recommendations for the rims.
