Engine Oil Measurement is Inactive

So I drive in oil check section gives this message,

BMW advised that it is a known bug in all F models and they expect update next week.

Any experience with this?

It takes several minutes for the car to warm up, and give you a reading. It's like this after 30+ minutes of driving?

Mines good. After 5 minutes running from cold it's ready to measure. Might I take this opportunity to ask why the car revs itself to a steady ~1100rpm when measuring?

I've wondered that too, but I don't have an answer.

No Problem until now (touch wood); every time after petrol refill and at the end of a trip (50 km) flawless measurement. Looks ok with me.
