BAVSOUND Special

For those that did not get HK option... BavSound it is by far the best and easiest sound upgrade for our F3x.

They are running a special (FYI, I'm not affiliated to them neither I received any special discount to spread the word)

Personally I haven't seen a car with their upgrade speaker yet, but I have read all their reviews out there, and it is impressive!

This kit that I'm buying normally runs around $860,00 with all the options, and I was able to get it for $454.00

Unfortunately, I will only receive them by Feb 1st , but since I don't drive my car in the winter (I keep it garaged), it wont be a big deal.

I will provide a FULL review in video when I have the speaker installed in my car.

Next mod will be new 19" rims once the original tires are gone.

BTW, even after 20K miles and 1.5 years I still in love with the car

Do they have a solution for our vibrating side skirts from the speakers. I have HK but I will pay to have these vibrations to go away. Image vibrations occur even with the base audio so everyone with a 3 or 4 is going to need this to go away at some stage. Tell them I will be the first one to sign up

I can't speak to the quality of the HK upgrade but I put in a Stage 1 BavSound unit to replace a base stereo system in my 2014 328d. The OEM unit had horrible sound, and the BSW replacement was a ton better. Fuller bass, wider and better defined mid-range frequencies, and a high range that was civilized and clear and didn't make my eardrums curl. My stage 1 system wasn't on sale and the cost was $599 with free sound deadening material. This unit is plug and play and you can do it yourself without too much trouble. I had my local auto sound shop do it and they charged me $100.

I have all of the speakers except the tweeters. They said I should have em just after Christmas. I stumbled on the sale a few weeks ago. I installed the center speaker already and yes, you can easily hear the difference.

Let's hope for some warmer temps after Christmas so I can install in the garage without breaking out the space heater.

remember if leasing you're only paying for a third of the HK upgrade cost, about $300.

Where did you install the deadening materials. Do some go in the side skirts?

You need to take the panels off the inside doors--I think that's all. You can check with BSW for more details.

Do you still get the rattles outside the car from the speakers?

Not my case, I have all of my cars paid off. I don't like the idea of...

5K down
550 x36 = 19,800
+ some extra fees
At the end of 3y = 25K and give it back to BMW so they can sell it for 30k or more.

Now, try to add PPK, tinted windows and BAVSOUND on your lease to see how mach more you will loose.

With an extra 20K the car it is yours, since it is paid, no interest and you get the best negotiation as possible at front.

Please, don't hate me, hate the numbers

It never occurred to me to listen outside the car for rattles with the speakers on.

I can understand, let me know if you get a chance. It's one of the most annoying sounds you will ever hear. Makes the car feel so cheap.

The sideskirts are what rattles the most. They are not mounted super tight. I think you can pull them off and use the 3m tape along the length before remounting.

The dynamat is installed on the metal surfaces under the door panels. It deadens the tinny, vibrations of the metal.

That's a great price, I got mine when they first came out and paid the price of first adopter-$799.
BUT, I've been enjoying my sound system ever since, so no complaints....this is a no brainer at this price!

I am useless when it comes to doing this myself so I will try to have someone do this for me. Thanks for the tip

Numbers rarely work that way. For me

$3500 down
$670 a month x 39
$29630 total.

Finance
$3500 down
$896 a month x 72
$68012 total

$38382 difference and theres no way the car will be worth that in 3 years.

From experience, buying a German car is a horrible idea. You will virtually never make out better than a lease. I'm currently sitting upside down $16,000 on the 750, and I need to give that to the dealer when I trade it in to keep my payments from going over a grand a month. They depreciate faster than you pay for them.

I saw this deal last month for their 10 year anniversary. I ordered on November 30th. They shipped Monday and should be here tomorrow. I will probably have to wait till after the 1st of the year to install. But with the discounts available I couldn't pass this up. Glad to hear everyone that has them is enjoying them. I will make sure to pass on my impressions after install also.

I was able to get the stage one upgrade for HK with the tools and sound deadening material for 769 shipped. Found and extra 10% off coupon on top of what they were giving.

Haha, sounds like a few of us took advantage of that deal. I talked with one of the guys there and he said the sale was "very successful". Good for them. This price was reasonable and they'd never be able to keep them on the shelf of they made it permanent. Yeah I forgot to mention, I used the 10% code as well.

I hope everyone has pry tools ready! I also picked up some spare clips for the door panels. I'm hoping I'll find whatever the annoying buzz/rattle is in the rear passenger door during install too.
