I bet you that "detuned" iteration of the 3.0T is not THAT detuned.

I bet if you dyno it, the N55 and 3.0T make very similar power. The 3.0T in the S4 is said to be underrated and makes closer to 330whp. So all the detuned one would need to do is make 270-275whp to match the N55.

Entering the S4 in this comparo would be biased the other way.

Anyway you can't just compare engines, there is so much more to it.

What's the unfair part when S6 can be pitched against M5/E63 and still came up on top.... what the world has come to?

Actually, the C350 is more impressive. Gotta give MB the credit for being a well balanced car, and more forgiving to drive on a day-to-day basis.

And also unfair when they compare an s4 quattro to a rear wheel 335i like in the past.

Any chance we will get this in the states or they will only give us the S4 for marketing purposes?

I think this is a perfectly fair comparao - Audi makes this detuned 3.0SC engine for the new q5 and q7, why not for the A4? The S4 would compete more with something like an M335i, which is not even existent yet.

About the BMW "....there's not as much room in the rear as the other two."

Do these guys even see the cars? I own a C class and it is tiny in the back ,I can't sit behind myself. One of the reasons I went for an F30 because it has miles of space in the rear.

Why the S4? These are the simular cars all made to compete with each other.

Thanks for restating the obvious. Everyone's a wiseguy huh?

What I wrote wasn't clear though. I meant what I wrote literally. If there's a 3.0T A4 out there in the world, whats going on here in America that is causing us to not have it. That would be a great car to have in America below the S4...

pricing. hardly anyone would buy a 3.0t a4 when an s4 starts at 45k. they barely sold any 3.2 a4's

Actually the only reason to have it would be if it was significantly cheaper than the S4. Other than that its pretty much a non sport detuned S4

I agree with you... Rear space of the F30 is the best of all 3 series up til now...

Because the 6 cylinder A4 were never big sellers here in the states. So Audi dropped them.

I have a 6 cylinder A4 and it's extremely rare to see another one on the road.

APR seems to say that the detuned 3.0T will put down 244 HP and 296 TQ to the wheels

I would have never imagined. I saw a 3.2 B7 A4 not too long ago and it caught my eye because I'm used to seeing the 2.0T.

Also, i didn't mean to be confrontational in my response if it came off that way.

I always feel like the 2.0T A4 is volkswagen at heart lol. The 328i and even the C250/C300 seem more bespoke to me than an A4 2.0T. I'm not sure if bespoke was the word to use btw.

I don't know why there are so many people hating the Benz, I have a C350 and a BMW and like both equally. Fine I feel more at home in my BMW guess coupes are generally driven by men. My wife loves her Benz and I am sure glad I can drive it in the winter time so my baby can rest in the garage ... only go for a spin if the roads are nice and dry during the winter.

[Speaking of my BMW resting in the winter time and slightly off topic ...... I have 4 Michelin Winter Tires on 220m Replica Wheels if anyone is in need PM me. My cost 18 months ago for the set was $2,345- I will let them go for $ 1,000- Firm - I will be posting pictures and details in the for sale section later, PM me if interested, also provided you are in Eastern Canada (back to topic)].

As for the Benz being a car for grandma or grandpa ... come on folks the C350 has plenty of up and go ... go drive one some day (speaking to the Benz Haters) and find out for yourself.

Putting my flaming suit on ... bring it on I just had to say it for my Benz serves me just fine during the winter months.

Thumbs up

You've got my relatively-affordable-dream garage...

when i was younger, i have thought and wanted to have both a 3 series and a c-class for my future wife and myself...

You've got good taste man

either car are great and safe and fun...
As i am about to take the plunge, i want to add the A4 to my dream garage for my future children
