Will the 335i M Performance Diffuser & Exhaust fit the 328i M Sport?
Searched and didn't find anything specifically about this.
My only gripe with the M Sport 328i I have on order is the dual, single-sided exhaust tips. The 335i Performance diffuser and exhaust look fantastic, so I'm wondering: 1. Will the 335i Performance Diffuser fit the M Sport 328i? 2. Will the 335i Performance Exhaust fit the M Sport 328i? 3. If the 335i Performance Diffuser does fit the M Sport 328i, would the stock 328i M Sport Diffuser fit non-M Sport cars so I can sell it? |

You live in LA, you have access directly to LTMW/LTBMW. They can make anything happen. Its safe to say if you want dual exhausts w/ the diffuser on your 328i, you're going to get it.

I'll clarify: can it happen without modifying anything, i.e. a direct swap of the exhaust and diffuser? Or is the exhaust compartment shaped differently between the two models?

The 328i and 335i both share the same trunk floor ("2", part #41007284335):
And they share the same heat shield ("10", part #51487321619): So with this in mind, I'm guessing the exhausts are interchangeable? |

I think the issue comes down to part "1" in both the 335i and 328i, and how the pipe connects to the mufflers:

Even if you swapped out everything, it looks like Part #2 won't match.

The post above mine shows it wouldn't fit. The angle on the long tubing (#2) isn't the same. I'm guessing the downpipes aren't in the exact same spot with the exact same angle and that changes the exhaust just enough that they aren't interchangeable.
It wouldn't be "too hard" to get something that works, but I'm betting it won't be a perfect drop in replacement.

I noticed the angling too, on the 335 it's almost straight, whereas the 328 is more curved. What might work is getting a 335 "2" pipe, cutting it off and welding it to a 328 pipe and connecting that to a 335 Exhaust. |

Another issue would be sound; I'm wondering if the internals of the 335 exhaust are strictly designed around the sound characteristics of the N55 and wouldn't cooperate well with the 328.

It's not a big deal to make it fit. Any shop can get it done with very little effort. It's just tubing. |
