Well I'm not sure about 6NS not being compatible with HU_ENTRY. I have HU_ENTRY and 6NH; changing it to 6NS and VO coding worked great for me

I do not have combox on my car, only option 6NH and it is working. |

Yours is HU_CIC mine is HU_ENTRY maybe that's what makes the difference? Also you have VO coded 6NS instead of 6NH before FDL coding right? What I wonder is whether I should have added another VO along with 6NS. |

Hi Shawn,
Hope everything is well! I'm trying to start coding a 2014 F10 M5 but haven't found the software to do it. Could you provide me with the links to the necessary software at hpgn@mail.com ? Thanks in advance! Helio |

Ahh - I coded it on my F10 and it worked perfectly. I cant seem to find it on my F30 for the life of me. I tried searching 'Fembody' and 'Rem' for anything along these keywords:
• Kommentar=Standlicht oder Tagfahrlicht in Funktion Standlicht (gedimmter Zustand) [0-32hex] => wert x 2 [in %] [3C-FEhex]=> wert x 0,1 [in V] ....which I found in the comment section in the FRM module under U_EFF_POL. I noticed something strange though. When I was in the U_EFF_POL, I expanded the first box and all I saw was 3 folders. F001 true() F010 true() F025 true() Does this mean it wont work on the F30 since F020 isnt included in that list or is that completely irrelevant ? Thanks man |

I don't how how to Code, but do have a question
As one with an F30 335xi on order I am both fascinated and upset that so many functions in the car are dependent on computer coding. Seems like too much "why tech" as opposed to "high tech" and that much more to go wrong.
Either way, I see there are a number of mods here that look appealing, i.e rear fog lights, video in motion, etc. My questions are simple: Can a dealer tell if any portion of the vehicle's code has been modified? If yes, how easily can they void the warranty? Still, I am interested in this. How does one find somebody able to SAFELY do this. I have little computer knowledge and don't own any Windows machines. Thanks! |

I code my car using a Mac running Windows in a Parallels virtual machine. Just turn off WiFi when you connect the cable to the wired Ethernet adapter. Dealers can't tell you've coded something -- unless you do something like code an option the car didn't have built into it at the factory. Even then, they might not notice. The only way they'd notice you've coded the car is if they are really observant and notice features that other cars don't have. That's just not something most techs are going to notice. What will happen is every time the car does something funky unrelated to what you've coded, they will update the entire car. This will reset your car to factory settings -- and you will want to recode the features you had and have come to rely on having. IOW, there's no substitute for doing this yourself.

The key is finding the equivalent FDL Code in FEM_BODY. It most likely exists, but its not obvious, and short of a lot of Trial and Error guessing, it wont be found.
