Obvious previous owner took the time to add that ///M thinking it's classy like the euro cars. Yup, time to debadge those, it's your car now.

I don't really have a problem if a car has the M decals from the factory. I heave a 435i M sport with the M sport blue brakes, M on the kick plates, M on the wheels, M on the steering wheel, so am I supposed to remove them because my car is not an M car? I think M decals anywhere but the trunk are ok. I do however agree that people re badging they're regular 3 or 4 series, etc. to say M3,4,5,6 etc. is wrong. Basically keep your Ms away from the trunk

I feel like you should just do what you want. Who cares about what others think. As long as you're ok with it, everyone can have a ego trip and try to make you change your car however they want.. but they're not paying your payments. So if you like it or doesn't bother you, just leave it. I took off my 335 badge because it's annoying to wash around and I like the debadged look better. Anyone can see my car isn't a M3. Not sure why it bothers other people so much. Not like we're sticking M3 badges on their cars and they have to drive with it lol :

I know it's 5 HP per badge but has anyone figured out how much added Torque I can expect per badge?

Can’t wait until Porsche customers start adding the turbo badge to their regular 911’s because now they are turbo charging most of their engines .That will be a new thread “Fake Porsche 911 Turbos”

Now we know where BMW cut costs. Specifically on the adhesives...considering my dash trim is peeling at one of the corners. |

The last car I debadged was my 2000 A4. I mainly did it for looks and as a signal to other enthusiasts that I was a member of their club. I have to admit, it was also largely due to vanity. I wanted people to notice it and regular people to question what my car was. Looking back it seems kind of childish. That was 18 years ago. I've had an S4, 328i, 340i, and M3 since then. I've never felt the need to debadge any of them. Your car is what it is, your not impressing anyone by debadging, and the sooner we admit that changing how something looks "for myself" is actually still done in vanity, the sooner we can be self aware enough to not be "that guy".

I feel like debadging gets a bad rep but it's fine. It's when you falsely badge cars in order to purposely trick people, that's when it gets poser-ish.

I like that word poserish.I would like to use that in a sentence if I may.Imagine the Bmw service advisor as he writes up the fake badged bmw for the poserish owner.Sir I don’t believe your vehicle is underperforming and the only thing that is out of spec is your fake M badge. We removed it and put the factory 320i badge back in place at no charge .Would you like a wash before we bring it back up to the front?

Nope this is factory. In 2014 for the first year of the 435i from what I know, this was factory. Comes with the M Sport front lip, M steering wheel, M shifter, M foot rest and of course, M blue brakes if you got the option. |
