Hello members,
Hope all is well! I have been noticing a different behaviour with CarPlay experience in my f30. Curious to know if anyone has noticed? Prior to iOS 12.3 on iPhone X, whenever I enter the car and CarPlay connects. CarPlay opens up on the iDrive automatically but since iOS 12.3, it's does not and I have to manually open CarPlay. I have reset the CarPlay, and did not help. Even after upgrading to iPhone 11 pro, same experience. Anyone else experiencing the same? Thanks CT

No disrespect...but, I've read and re-read your post several times. Can't for the life of me figure out what you're trying to state 1. Sorry to say I haven't noticed since I don't have access to your car 2. Uhmmmmm...huh? . .

Yes, that is exactly what I meant to say. Maybe I did not choose right word to describe it 😀 So yes, since iOS 12.3, I have to manually open CarPlay when I enter in the car. However prior to iOS 12.3, CarPlay would open on iDrive automatically as soon a as it connects.

Tried a few times and as long as you were on the "Media" screen when you last turned off the car, the most you have to do is repress "Media" on the controller and it automatically reopens carplay. It does take about 30 seconds to reconnect to carplay though

Yes, I tested with turning off the car in podcast and when I got back an hr later. CarPlay opened back to podcast within 15-20sec. I'm not always listening to podcast, I do listen to radio most time but I do use Apple Maps when driving. However, I have tested with turning off the car in Maps mode within CarPlay but on my return to car, it never open Maps back automatically in CarPlay. Have had this issue for quite sometime now. Anyways, I will test again with shutting off in Maps and see if it return to apple maps when I get back to car. Thanks again.

Just tested and it seems to work as expected with Apple Maps. However, this did not work this afternoon when I returned to my car.
I did update my iPhone to iOS 13.2 beta 1, this evening. Not sure if this is something fixed in 13.2. Thanks all for you inputs and assistance.
