xdrive vs standard exhaust

anyone with first hand experience know if the exhausts are different? i am being told they are but i am not 100% sure.

They're different exhausts. Specifically the 1st section of the pipe closest to the cat.

I purchased a Borla s-type exhaust for 335i, and had it installed on my 335i x-drive. A hanger had to be cut off the exhaust to get it to fit in the exhaust tunnel, with a new hanger welded on so it could be secured to the chassis in a different location.

Rest of the exhaust back to the muffler tips is identical. Just the 1st section which is different.

This is also confirmed by oem BMW exhaust part #'s; all the exhaust pieces share the same oem part #, except for the 1st section - different part #'s.

Yes, sorry, you're right: the first section (DP) because of the xdrive clutch, I guess, ad for the DPS of the old N54.
