Do you have ZSP (Sport) or ZMP (M-Sport)?

My guess is you do not, and that is why you do not have it.

What did you code? Thanks.

Also, anyway to keep sport-mode handling on Eco mode, but keeping the Eco throttle response? Thanks,

Shawn, looking through there is alot of NSW's, how do you deduce which one to try? or do you just shoot darts till you find it?

any tips on how to decode what something may do before you try 500 of them? lol

No easy way. The best you can do is look for ones with NSW, and then using Google Translate, translate both the FDL Code Name (without the _'s) and the comment, and try and figure out what the FDL Code will do. The more you study codes, you start to pick up on some of BMW's abbreviations, like BEI for High Beam, NSW for Fog Lights, SHD for Moon Roof, WL for Welcome Lights, etc., and that helps too. In the end though, some you just have to code and test the car to determine what if any affect it has.

For NSW, 500 is a bit exaggerated.

If you consider the ones with "R" for Right and "L" for left are the same FDL codes only duplicated for opposite sides of the car, then that knocks the actual number of potential FDL Codes down by almost half.

Happy Hunting!

ok cool, going through it, so far I found this that mentions cornering but I don't think its something you edit right?

I don't know what that is. I don't have have an F30, so I do not have FEM_BODY CAFD of my own, but an F30 user sent me one to examine a while back and the dropdown box for that one has only two choices, "off" or "nsw_l", and it was set to off. I don't think this is of interest.

Instead of focusing on the Fog Lights (NSW), maybe focus on the Cornering Lights (CLC), as in the F30 the Fog Lights are the Cornering Lights. Maybe these:

C_CLC_ENA = F020disable (Kommentar=Switch to enable CLC (Abbiegelicht))

C_CLC_REV_ALWAYS_ON = Werte FF (Kommentar=Switch to enable cornering light while reverse gear is engaged - 100% cornering light on while reverse gear is engaged)

C_CLC_REV_CURV_BOTH_ON = Werte FF (Kommentar=Switch to enable cornering light on both sides while reverse gear is engaged (steering request))

And there are other CLC ones...

This was it. I didn't even get to the others to see what they did...

C_CLC_ENA = F020disable disabled both cornering fog lights AND the fog lights from turning on when reversing.

Not Bad!

What we need is a legend of codes like:

CLC = Cornerning Lights(FogLights)
WL = Welcome Lights

So noobie coders like me can have a quick reference guide and find our own stuff and not ask so many questions

But anyhow, THANKS SHAWN for the 50th time

I guess we found a new code...

C_CLC_ENA - F020Disable = fog light delete, only turns on when fog light button is pressed manually. no fogs on cornering/no fogs on reverse.

My rear windows both auto-up & down with one click; no coding necessary.

I have seen this issue with other cars. They have taken them in to the dealer to be fixed. They needed either resetting, or re-programming, I don't remember which.

Cool, thanks!

I think the extra time it took when we VO coded HU_CIC was when the FA was written to the car.

The setting should be there whether you have any of the VSS or DHP options or not.

I have a luxury line with no sport add-ons (VSS, DHP, etfc) and my ICM shows the setting:

ICM / 3000 / IcmKod_B_Sportlenkung

I have not tried coding it, but the setting is there!

Ok, I just tried this out. I am utterly confused.

In chronological order:

I had these values as defaults. Only front Corona rings are on as DRL. Tail pipes are off (inner & outer).
Code:
REM > 3062 > MAPPING_TAGAHRL_H_L_OUTPUT = off
REM > 3062 > MAPPING_TAGAHRL_H_R_OUTPUT = off
REM > 3063 > MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_6_OUTPUT = off
REM > 3063 > MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_7_OUTPUT = off
REM > 3063 > MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_6_PWM_LEVEL_1 = werte=00
REM > 3063 > MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_7_PWM_LEVEL_1 = werte=00
Then, I changed them to following. Now, Front Corona rings & tail pipes are on. Great.

Code:
REM > 3062 > MAPPING_TAGAHRL_H_L_OUTPUT = sl_l
REM > 3062 > MAPPING_TAGAHRL_H_R_OUTPUT = sl_r
REM > 3063 > MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_6_OUTPUT = sl_2_l
REM > 3063 > MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_7_OUTPUT = sl_2_r
REM > 3063 > MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_6_PWM_LEVEL_1 = werte=64
REM > 3063 > MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_7_PWM_LEVEL_1 = werte=64
Now, I turned changed them to the following. Note, I didn't change werte=00 on the pwm levels. I thought, if I turn off universal 6 & 7 output, it is a moot point to change the pwm levels. Ok...lets see. Now, I am back to default front corona rings only.

Code:
REM > 3062 > MAPPING_TAGAHRL_H_L_OUTPUT = off
REM > 3062 > MAPPING_TAGAHRL_H_R_OUTPUT = off
REM > 3063 > MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_6_OUTPUT = off
REM > 3063 > MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_7_OUTPUT = off
REM > 3063 > MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_6_PWM_LEVEL_1 = werte=64
REM > 3063 > MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_7_PWM_LEVEL_1 = werte=64
Now, I tried to change TFS_MODUS = drl_s(as shawn suggested). But it turns out, it was already set to drl_s as a default!
Code:
TFS_MODUS = drl_s
So, now I am scratching my head .

now to add to the confusion, I changed the values as follows to get both front & back DRL to turn on (note that the parameters are different than the first time!):

Code:
REM > 3062 > MAPPING_TAGAHRL_H_L_OUTPUT = sl_l
REM > 3062 > MAPPING_TAGAHRL_H_R_OUTPUT = sl_r
REM > 3062 > MAPPING_TAGAHRL_H2_L_OUTPUT = sl_2_l
REM > 3062 > MAPPING_TAGAHRL_H2_R_OUTPUT = sl_2_r
REM > 3063 > MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_6_OUTPUT = off
REM > 3063 > MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_7_OUTPUT = off
REM > 3063 > MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_6_PWM_LEVEL_1 = werte=64
REM > 3063 > MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_7_PWM_LEVEL_1 = werte=64
So, what the hell is going on? Only conclusion I can come up with is that MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_6 or 7 doesn't matter. I have them OFF. With my default TFL_MODUS=drl_s, I just had to change MAPPING_TAGARHL_H/H2 to their respective values.

I am sure, some where in the dark offices of BMW software development team...there is a thick manual that tells ya all the dependencies & explanations. The "Comment or rather Kommenter" thing is a cruel joke...its not consistent and the whole thing is haphazardly put together IMHO. BMW software developers! get your act together...help us hackers out lol

or I could try to learn German
